Parade was a great homage to classic R&B, it's a shame there's no official release available in video or record!

Lovesexy was more Prince doing his thing but it was an amazing tour as well and it's a shame too that the Dortmund show isn't available either.

It's about TIME for a video retrospective series to be made available online. Early Lotusflow3r.com promo suggested that it was what P had in mind for this site before he changed his mind.

Still waiting...

Seen both and Parade winds.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

I saw Lovesexy live and could barely understand what the hell was going on half the time. It was awesome cause it was Prince, and the 2nd half was cool as all hell, but overall too confusing.

I only WISH I saw Parade live, but saw a laserdisc a few years back from his birthday show in Detroit and it was HOT. He was on fire during that show. So I have to say Parade.

I've seen him 4 times now...and the best was a show I saw was in Chicago at the Aragon Ballroom right around when New Power Soul came out. Chaka Kahn and Larry Graham were there. I was literally right next to the stage. I was a sweaty mess that night from dancin my ass off! I really liked the Musicology show too.

Parade was the first time I saw Prince live, so it stands out for me. Plus, it was the only time I got to see The Revolution, so it will always have a very special place in my memory!!!

Now, having said that... this is a very tough thread and an even tougher decision. I would have to give Lovesexy the edge for two major reasons:

1. He took us on a spiritual journey and reminded us (well me, personally), that God is alive and God is Love. The major impact November 3, 1988 had on my life, still affects me to this day.

2. He ripped the hell outta the SOTT Peach Guitar, as well as the Model C, and the legendary Blue Angel Guitars!!! Something that he seriously lacked doing on the Parade tour.

Otherwise, these are two great tours that have special meaning to me and fond memories. I'm especially glad and blessed to have been able to attend both.

I was there. My second second show. Way better than the Jam of the Year show I'd seen the previous year (my first). the NPS show at the Aragon would probably be my favorite of all the shows if I hadn't been lucky enough to get to go to the 2002 celebration. that really kind of spoiled me for Prince concerts, I think.

Yea the celebration is pretty hard to top. That was an incredible week. I was just thinking about it the other day and remembered Prince totally took us to the movies one night. Forgot about that.

YESWECAN

Wow eek
I was on the highway when they were giving tickets away for the 4/3/86 show before he went to Europe. I now have this show on audio and it would have changed my perspective and life. I saw 3 Lovesexy shows and they did.

Lovesexy was the best visually, musicianship (more with less) and message.

Parade tour - attitude cool

Parade definately since Lovesexy was way too complicated and like watching a video...

but both can only stand in the shadow of ONA though, which I more and more start to see as his best tour EVER

Yes your definatly right!

thats is easily his best tour

the set list was just right and he made those RC tracks twice as good as the album versions smile

I really wish I hit that celebration...I had a chance to go...living in Chicago it was definitely possible. My excuse? Pure laziness...what kind of fan am I, right? after all the reports started coming in I immediately regretted not making the trip.

I witnessed both & I guess you really had to be there to fully appreciate the full scope of artistry/music/costumes. If I had to pick a favorite I would say
Parade. wink
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.
