Who the fuck would seriously consider voting Prince to that list? It's not supposed to be a popularity contest, but a legitimate poll about who is influencing culture today. Prince in no way, shape or form could be considered relevant to this query. He hasn't broken new ground in a decade or more.
Incidentally, I voted for the drummer from Iron Butterfly. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

When another artist mentions Prince as an influence, it's a sure bet that they're talking about 1980's Prince and not New Millennium Prince. It's also disheartening to have recently realized that songs like Kiss and Colonized Mind are not even original compositions by P.
