There still is not a shred of tangible evidence. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Kind of like that funk album that people are sure Prince was going to put out in 2008 (or as part of LotusFlower, depending on the source). Not a shred of evidence, but people want to believe it, so it's spread like fact.

Is there any rumor yet that this album won't suck ass?
Or a rumor that this album will make me forget how Prince fucked over his fans this past year? Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I meant how Prince has fucked over his fans this past decade. I do want to start one rumor: I have no intention of giving Prince another dime, so I won't be buying this album, but I'm happily going to download it for free and share it with everyone I can. But that's not so much a rumor as it is a promise. Oh, well.

Does that imply he didn't get paid for these CD's? I do hope he realizes the distribution required for such a release (i.e. not just USA and France)... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... Never gonna happen, cos he loves his money too much, but I'd like him to give an album away with the Big Issue. That would actually do some good. blah blah blah

And soon a new CD of Prince as a gift in your laundry, the old gift BONUX ..... Cool and the gang did that a few years ago .... I wonder how much JW is pumped him his money ..... and how Prince is out of the world, outside time, well in the far west, it aged poorly man, it's sad, sign'o the times. [Edited 4/15/10 0:29am]

So the only way you could buy his new album is buying it from a tramp on the street? No thanks.

that would put people off buying it, having to aproach some dodgy drug addict... To the last two responses: What an uneducated response. That's actually shocked me a bit. People become homeless for a variety of reasons, and tarring homelessness with drug addiction is an incredibly blinkered view. The people that sell the Big Issue are those that are actively doing something to get back onto the first rung of society. What you are saying is that you'd rather get your CD any other way than give a couple of quid to someone who needs it the most? looks like the milk of human kindness has gone off around here. Well, I thought 3121 and MPLSound sucked donkey balls, but I liked PE and Lotusflow3r, so it's two for two as to whether, for me, the next album is looking hot to trot or slack and wack.
Fiddle-de-dee, I'm excited!

the man is running on empty, he soooo needs to take a full year off. Not to be overly negative but if he is physically struggling i.e. his hips, then doing a tour / promo etc could do more harm than good to him personally. We do not wnat him to get through a project on pain killers right?. It would be very sad if he is being forced to a large scale project due to cash flow issues.

What's the source for these rumours? well creatively speaking it is only my opinion however I suspect many on here will agree with me. In terms of the health [the hips!] nothings officially confirmed BUT weren't there some well documented sources over the last 2 years or so, add to the fact that he walks with a pimp stick [fashion statement or health?] etc then the rumour v fact starts to get a little blurred. Clearly even his harshest crtics on here would not wish him ill health and hope that it is only a rumour BUT if it is fact and if he can afford a year off then we would all be better off.

That means: I know it's just a rumor...I hope it's true. It would be nice to hear it around Prince's Birthday. A new Prince album is gonna be released in june via print media (magazines or newspapers) worldwide... Not available via internet or in a record store.... Containing 10 songs..... Not sure, but i wanted to inform the Org "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I think that you are ahead of your time with this quote. It is true that newspapers and magazines in paper format are dying a slow death. However, it will be years and years until it finally happens. It takes generations because a lot of people prefer reading their newspapers in the morning, not to mention reading magazines on their leisure time. People already stare through a screen all day, that's why conventional paper releases will be around. It's the same with vinyl albums, really. They disappeared from stores for a while and now, they have come back. Books - they won't be disappearing any time soon neither.

It's OK if you don't believe. I (and several others who are in the know) know what the deal is. Look at my bio - I'm in the music industry and I'm signed to a major. I was previously signed to a different major. I talk with other people in the industry on a daily basis. It makes no difference to me whether you think what I'm saying is true or not. But even the most noobish of Prince fans can look at his behaviour over time, look at the fact that he's had an album out almost every year for the past 30 years, and then come to the conclusion that he probably DID intend, at one stage, to release an album in 2008, and the flood of activity that happened around the time of Coachella related to that - ie the hints dropped by reliable members here and at HQ, the performance of a brand new song on a mainstream TV ahow, with bespoke artwork in the background, the registration of several new trademarks belonging to Paisley Park, Inc, at the same time. The difference is I know for sure, but it doesn't take Einstein to figure out something was going on. |

The difference is I know for sure, but it doesn't take Einstein to figure out something was going on. It's telling that you want me to believe that you've got some scoop, that you're in the know, but then you spend the rest of your post putting together a long string of suppositions and theory. You make a reasonably convincing case that something MIGHT have been happening, but there's still zero proof. And you overlook one thing: after "Turn Me Loose" was aired on the radio, Prince passed along a message to Dr. Funkenberry that it wasn't intended for release, and had been recorded for archival purposes: http://www.drfunkenberry....-it-loose/ On a different note: you can toss around your "industry" connections all you like, but nothing in your bio indicates you have a direct line to insider info about Prince. Who do you think you're fooling? I actually WORK in the industry (new media/marketing), and my experience is that artists such as yourself don't have the kind of connections you claim to. Your management company doesn't even have a website. You claim to be signed to Universal, but everything you've released has been independent. Doesn't add up. If you talk to industry people everyday, it must surely be as you serve them coffee. [Edited 4/15/10 8:49am]
