Prince is WAY behind!!!!!
All his fans (that he has left) would have to vote multiple times to move him up to the top 25

Who the fuck would seriously consider voting Prince to that list? It's not supposed to be a popularity contest, but a legitimate poll about who is influencing culture today. Prince in no way, shape or form could be considered relevant to this query. He hasn't broken new ground in a decade or more.

Incidentally, I voted for the drummer from Iron Butterfly.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It's perfectly legitimate to say that Prince has influenced the music world in the last 30 years.

And furthermore...

this year's list of the 100 most influential people in the world

Your own quote points it out.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Well, almost every single indie artist mention Prince as a big influence, from MGMT to Phoenix, so he belong to this list, actually his more influential now to new hipster artists then in the 90s grunge era.

Lady Ga Ga top the list because she's the best promoted artist by the industry at this moment, obviously her fans are voting, but there is people like Muammar Gaddafi and Paul Volcker on the top 20, so it's seems that they cover all, plus when was the last time that you see Prince in this list?

And if you ask current popstars who they model themselves upon or who they idolised when growing up, they'd probably answer Prince along with some others. Meaning influence from the past still has influence today.

Just ask Lady Gaga, Timbaland, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, maxwell, Muse etc...

You can say why now, but better late than never! ?

We can go back and forth on this, but the simple fact is that no one is likely to see what Prince is doing today as an artist and/or businessman and adopt those influences. When another artist mentions Prince as an influence, it's a sure bet that they're talking about 1980's Prince and not New Millennium Prince.

It's tough to admit, but Prince hasn't been a trendsetter for a couple of decades. If anything, he's become a follower of trends. It's also disheartening to have recently realized that songs like Kiss and Colonized Mind are not even original compositions by P.
