Who the fuck would seriously consider voting Prince to that list? It's not supposed to be a popularity contest, but a legitimate poll about who is influencing culture today. Prince in no way, shape or form could be considered relevant to this query. He hasn't broken new ground in a decade or more.
Incidentally, I voted for the drummer from Iron Butterfly. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

When another artist mentions Prince as an influence, it's a sure bet that they're talking about 1980's Prince and not New Millennium Prince. It's tough to admit, but Prince hasn't been a trendsetter for a couple of decades. If anything, he's become a follower of trends. It's also disheartening to have recently realized that songs like Kiss and Colonized Mind are not even original compositions by P.
