Definitely, hands down the loss of and mystery behind his and Mayte's sweet love child.

The only scandalous incident I've ever read about was the one during Rave, when a woman claimed he did strange sexual acts to her in his house, or something like that. That story didn't progress though, since I think she was proved wrong, so he was lucky. He's been smart enough not to get involved with problematic people like most other celebrities with his high status, and no one has accused him of anything shocking enough to grow into a scandal and mess up his image.

I think the lyrics to Darling Nikki being the cause of Congressional Hearings is a pretty big scandal.

It's one of the main reasons why there are Parental Advisory Warnings on CD's.

The Name Change was a huge deal when it happened.

Prince doesn't really court personal scandal the way a lot of artists do.

The We Are the World thing I doubt many put much thought into. Was it a scandal? Wasn't it just a "He's so arrogant, that lil'bugger", more than a media outrage?

I really can't think of a true scandal with Prince. The Darling Nikki thing is the closest Prince has been to the ol' "Let's create a mob and burn his records" .. but that eventually only made him more cool.

I'll have to go with the baby dancing. Here Prince made himself out to be a true Narcissist or at the very least a classic "evil corporation" like Disney or like, say Warner Brothers, set out to smash independent thoughts and enthusiasm about their work.

I haven't heard anyone I know mention it to me knowing I'm a huge Prince fan once.

I would think his departure from WB & writing slave on his face was a pretty big scandal. I could care less about some dancing baby getting taken off youtube. Anyone who joined LF should have known better if they were a fan for @ least 5 years. Everyone here seems shocked that Prince sues people, you'd think we'd b used to it by now... keep in mind I'm not saying it's right but c'mon. Everything else u mentioned is Prince @ his best... full of surprises!

this is my fav topic when it comes to p because, scandal is his middle name. i will start off with getting on rick james shit list on the fire it up tour. pissing off black radio for not making sure they get hook up wit tickets for his movie events, his concert tours or his vegas stint. not doing any interveiws with black media when he was talking. there is more but i have to go.

The biggest scandal? The non-release of the Lovesexy etc tour footage on DVD.

I guess this thread's topic isn't taking the literal meaning of scandal where malicious gossip is intended to be a disgraceful.

If a Prince scandal is being clever, Prince has gained control over his art and mentor's other musicians that need to protect themselves.
