It's a complete accident that she got this big. I bet she laughs herself to sleep every night while counting her piles of money. no your talking about Madonna, Lady Ga Ga is the one that sings and plays the piano and has talent other than her tits... Prince's rock songs had an element of urban/black funk..
(It's funny how some people of different origins try to place word on what may be missing..this my opinion). Just being around the World, and trying to appease the masses... Song doesn't have to have nasty lyrics, just some hardness..Dance-able grooves.. ..but they liked the funk uniqueness..a bit.. Too many lyrics.. I guess that he had less to say in the 80s.. Still, he can say all of this with fewer lyrics, and some editing. Take on element of that chorus,a nd drive it home... like "Made in the Image".. Still, I think that he would not air a song, then release it.. I assume that it's just a tease track... YHWH is Elohim and Yahsohua is King.. [Edited 2/26/10 12:28pm]

2elijah said: Doesn't sound like he has regrets, especially with the other lyrics in the song basically saying if you have regrets in your life, then you erase a part ofy our life that helped you grow into the person you are right now or becoming a better you, from those life experiences. From that I got that he is basically saying he doesn't feel the need to apologize for being the person he was in his past, because it was and is a part of him and he learned and grew from those experiences, whether considered bad or good times. The lyrics basically says he wouldn't change a thing but his next of kin (<-whomever they are who may have had an effect on his life). The part about leaving a note if this was in the "right now" (present day) especially the way the world is today, is basically saying that the advice (which could be interpreted in many ways) that he would give himself if he was his own father, and he was the child today, is that you can't have it both. ways in life, (being a superstar and a grownup) or can be interpreted to saying you can't serve two gods, you have to make a choice to which path in life to take, and stay true to that path, regardless of what anyone else thinks of you. Just my two cents. [Edited 2/26/10 11:25am] Londdonstyle said: I like your take on the lyrics some good points here, he's seen somethings that have confirmed to him that it's a choice be a star or grownup, i don't think he wants to be the star anymore he wants the family life he wants to be the hubby but he's taken the path of superstar so no sence in regreting it now ...he's just gonna have to play it out to the end ....but he wants to do it on his terms i.e. no contracts that tie him down to do things he does not want to do ....alot of what he says has (i know i going to get it in the neck) alot of post-MJ about it....Good Post. Wow, thank you Londonstyle and I appreciate the compliment, but that is what I get from those lyrics, like he's saying "This is who I am and I created and lived that image of the past, and while living and learning through it, I embrace that experience, with no regrets, because along the way it helped me to search my soul spiritually, and become the person I am today spiritually, and that my life’s path has allowed me to grow, learn and mature in the process, while at the same time, it has given me the opportunity to live the life of a superstar, which fame often brings." But in it all, as a man today, he sounds comfortable and satisfied with his spiritual beliefs, his image/person he is today, and the music he creates. It’s like he’s sending a message that he does not have to apologize, make excuses, or give explanations for the choices and decisions he's made in his life, to any man (human being) on this earth, because he is spiritually satisfied, and comfortable with who he is today. I applaud Prince for that. [Edited 2/26/10 12:33pm]

Cerebus said: Playing the piano, or any instrument, does not mean you deserve to reach the ridiculous heights of adulation that GaGa has reached. Her "songs" are incredibly simple, boring and far more silly than anything Prince regurgitates on a bad day. But we, as a Prince audience, hold Prince to much higher standards. The world at large ate GaGa up so fast that they haven't even had time to think about how much indigestion they're going to have in a couple years. She's a nail in a coffin. Mark my words.

Most peeps on here need to grow up. Prince has changed into a deeper spiritual person. u need to accept that or just move on and keep your negative comments to yourself or just stop coming on this site period. Prince is not goin back in his music. He is grown and have accepted his new spiritual garden. Why don't U? will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

Boy what a piece of crap. What's with the wimpy vocal parts? With a rock song you should put balls into the verses. P, listen to how Van Halen does it or Aerosmith.
Listen again to Endorphinmachine and tell us this rocks. Prince, his talent is gone. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Lotusflow3r (the disc) acually gave me some hope that prince was on the right direction. I was hoping 4 something simular or better when I read about this song but now I'm so disapointed that I'm not sure I would lookin 4ward 2 his next album. The lyrics sucks. The only thing that save the song is the solos. Welcome 2 The Dawn

Bingo! That's the problem. .....all that glit-ters aint gold. I actually hated the Gold Experience when I first heard it. It was the same kind of reaction as to this song, that it was a lot of bombast & not a lot of great songwriting. Shh in particular seemed a bit over dramatic, and Gold seemed like a pop song worthy of a Disney cartoon with huge guitar notes that didn't move me in the slightest. I like it now, but I am not convinced that it's far superior to this song...yet. Time will tell My Legacy
