The Big Picture. In my opinion, the Big Picture is, “Prince’s Legacy.
Prince has millions of people that have followed his successful career since 1978 with his debut album, “For You.” Coming through the years there has been a diverse audience that bring Prince’s fans from all over the World into an internet room as this. “The prince.org.” In this room there appears to be a parting of the sea. Those of us that continue to support Prince in a positive way, and those that take cheap shots at Prince’s character whenever they can. This room is definitely for volleying personal opinions based on the music we love and should be within a peaceful limit of remarks. Knowing Prince as a loving spiritual man, any fan can say that Prince loves us as a brother or sister. Any fan can also admit that no one deserves repeated attacks on their character. New Prince fans pass through this room of confusion, where mockery of Prince’s symbol exists, the young/wild Prince of the early 80’s is framed and illuminated, as well as other loose personal details of Prince’s life being mentioned inappropriately. My crime on the other side of the sea is to Love Prince too much. Most people know that I would love to be Prince’s wife if it were to make us both happy, however, if Prince didn’t love me as a man loves a wife, I can say that I come to the “prince.org.” to talk about the beautiful difference Prince’s music has made in my life. I come here to support the inspiration Prince has been in my personal artistic expression, and my spiritual walk with God. When a Prince fan reaches a point where they don’t get something within by loving Prince as a person, those people can just walk away from this closer circle to Prince…And still love the music. When I say, “The Big Picture is Prince’s Legacy,” it is because his music is good for the soul. Prince’s art should be respected. It is disappointing to come to the “prince.org,” as a Prince friend and feel like the only thing you can do on behalf of Prince is drown out the antagonists with “Tsunami Emotion.” A “Hang-10 Love Wave,” is what we should all be on. On behalf of my enduring friendship with Prince, I will believe that newcomers to this site will come to know the love in Prince’s musical legacy and blind their eyes to the vindictive nature of some Prince’s followers. “Prince’s Legacy,” has always intended to unite the “Brotherhood of Man,” and I will continue to believe that with time his legacy will unite his fans. Thank U 4 reading. ~Tame "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Hey Tame, I love Prince's music, but still... you sound a bit like a fanatic to me...
to read your post is very strange, imo.... millions of people - in the 80s yes, not anymore.. most fans doesn't care about Prince nomore... not millions.... Knowing Prince as a loving spiritual man, any fan can say that Prince loves us as a brother or sister... very strange to say this... imo. I don't know Prince, and he doesn't know me, he's not in my family, a brother? no way... Most people know that I would love to be Prince’s wife ... LOL, are you serious.... it is because his music is good for the soul. Prince’s art should be respected... not all of his music should be respected, Wedding Feast, Purple & Gold, Jughead, Orgasm just to name a few songs that shouldn't. To me you sound a little naive, it's ok to love Prince's music, but none of us knows him personally, and one fan should be able to critizise him and/ or his music too. To be a little critical towards Prince and his music is always a good thing. Just imo. Sorry if this is hurting you.. ps. I say this maybe because I don't like his music post 1995 that much, I am not the fan I used to be, in 1978-1995 Prince was unique, not so much anymore, imo. Prince 4Ever.

I get what you're saying, and the org is certainly unnecessarily negative at times, but Prince is definitely not always a loving person. Those who have been actually close to him (unlike nearly everyone on this board) has encountered a selfish, paranoid, vindictive side of Prince. It's the reason he has few people in his inner circle for any extended period of time. Larry seems to be a rare exception.
And if anyone disrespects Prince's musical legacy, it's the man himself. He seems to have little regard for his past, which is why we will likely never see remasters, unreleased tracks being made official, or any kind of relevant memoir. But it's his work and that's his prerogative. Having said all that Tame, I'm not trying to be argumentative towards you or dismissive of what you're saying. For all of his faults Prince can also be, by the same accounts of those who were close to him, a funny, intelligent, compassionate person. I believe someone of his genius/talent doesn't think or function the way the rest of us do. He simply has the means to indulge his darker traits. No one can tell him no, and that's not always beneficial for someone like Prince. Anyway, whatever people's feelings on his current output, we're all here because his music has meant something deep and profound to each of us at some point in our lives. For some people that feeling lives solely in the past, and for others it continues to this day and always will. At this point, whatever he does or doesn't do, I myself am on this ride for life. Again, I'm not knocking what you're saying Tame, and it is indeed nice to see some positivity here every once in awhile. I'm just saying that not everyone who is occasionally critical of the man hates him or has any ill will towards him. Prince is an enigma, sometimes consciously so, so it only makes sense his fans would run the spectrum.

Well let's face it - Prince is easy to make fun of. He knows he is, it's just too easy to poke fun at him about his music & fashion. Then he goes & makes very questionable decisions that jeperdise his apparently open minded, accepting & caring personality. There is a lot of things to praise Prince for, but there are more things to make fun of! With a character as strong as him, it's just too hard to resist saying "this guy is behaving like an fool" or cringe at some of his decisions... he asks for it, & he deserves it! I recently saw a thread on here though, of someone simply thanking Prince for his music & many people were like "You have to be kidding me" or "Lock this thread it's stupid" & a few people being negative towards anything other than negativity itself! I don't agree with that at all... The caption under the header of this site tells us it's an "online fan comminity", & if someone just wants to hate on a celebrity & someone wanting to praise that celebrity, then they should just make an "only hater community" & save themselves the inevitable arguments & disapointment! Criticizing is one thing, but there's no place for insults & hate anywhere... I think Prince has done some stupid things in the past, but I don't see the point in complaining about them because I can't change them, so there's just no need in it! Respect Prince for his music, that is why people are here. He devoted his life to it, everyone here loves him for it so everyone should appreciate his music, whether they like it or not! I'm not saying it should be constant ass kissing, because where's the fun in that? but I don't understand why someone would want to be part of an online fan community of someone who they don't even like

everyone is entitled to their opinion. The truly negative comments are usually from "fair weather" fans. "Fair weather" jump on board when P drops something funky and diss when he releases something they don't like. There are many comments I just ignore. I feel if you really don't like Prince or you hate one of his songs, why waste time @ the org? There are a ton of artist I don't like but I've never visited their fan site. I say this because I've ran across several people who say they don't like Prince but have actually bought or like some of his music. People are fickle.

I'll be straight up also with my genuine feeling for Prince. I'd marry Prince in a heartbeat. I just love him through and through. I only want what God wants for my life. Prince is the man, and Prince makes his own decisions about who to love as a wife. I would only want to marry Prince if it would make him happy. If not, I'd rather take my heart elsewhere. I disagree. To point out the reality that "someone will not become his wife" and that "he does not even know we exist" to a grown woman is not being a "fair weather fan". How people feel about the music has nothing to do with the fact that some posts sound like the rantings of teenaged girls who had crushes on David Cassidy, the Beatles, The Jonas Brothers, or any other teen idol. And who are you to say that someone shouldn't come to the org because they hate one song? I CAN'T STAND "Little Red Corvette". So ban me.... I've been on here since 2004, and no one can deny chocolate1's love of Prince. I just know how to separate and live in reality. I highlighted the fact that he said "...if you hate a song". And of course I know that we can't speak for Prince. But loving his fans is different than wanting to marry a random one he's never met. True. I am first and foremost a fan, however, we did meet in 83'. I can pray 4 a date can't I? "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Tame, I like you girl!
I like you because in this darkness of hostility you are a ray of light. But let me confess that I also admire you. For having the guts to go after your dream however impossible it may seem. For admitting this publicly thus exposing yourself to hostility and humiliation every single day. Confronting all this with patience and sweetness. It's "crazy" people like you who took humanity one step ahead. You have BALLS girl! GO for it all the way! (p.s. ...and don't forget about that front row at the wedding, huh? ) I am but mad north-northwest

I find it strange to argue just for the sake of arguing, and I am not trying to call anybody out, however being sort of new I have felt intimidated by the negative sway of some posters, as tho they are trying to convince others of all the things they don't like about Prince, it's okay cause I know what I like about him

Funny thing is I was just reading a book today about Womens Legacy in the Bible, and I think that love is part of Prince's Legacy,
