Slash's work, on the other hand, is much more widespread/relatable/connecting to hearts around the world.

Anyone saying Slash is insignificant might as well say they're not a fan of honesty. Cause that's what music is about, one should recognize and appreciate it even if they don't "get it".

Prince would put up a fight in a room with Eddie Van Halen and Slash.. but in the longrun would be put to shame. Those boys have far more tricks up their sleaves.

they don't sing don't dance don't play other instruments.

first where Prince kills both of these guys is Prince
Amazing Rhythm guitar playing.
Eddie and Slash can't play 10 % of rhythmic figures Prince plays on an average day.
if you play jazzy backing track do you think Eddie and
Slash would play jazz guitar as Prince can do,no Prince
isn't a jazz player but he knows jazz

much better then those two and he showcased it

Eddie would kill Prince if they should play tapping .
but who cares for tapping anyway?
tapping is great but not in every song like Eddie does it.

point of this long rambling is :if you wanna be a great guitar player you must be great rhythm guitar player.you cant be great without that aspect.
when you are a master of rhythm then you are master of

with Prince's sense for timing and rhythm there are no
limits for Prince he can play whatever he wants.
when Eddie And Slash learn to play rhythm guitar like
Prince then they can be compared maybe

Let's not forget that despite his bold stage presence, Prince was VERY shy off stage--less so now than back in the day. I wonder how many incidents that have been interpreted as "snubs" by Prince back in the day were more a result of shyness than rudeness. After all, this is the same guy who had one of the best-selling albums of 1984, and then confided in an interview two years later that he would have been nervous around all the musicians in the We Are the World session.

I can understand Prince's not wanting to associate with the GNR ilk, but he's always seemed to be the type to at least be polite. And GNR were fucking huge in '89. I'm sure Prince at least knew who Slash was, even if he didn't own a copy of Appetite for Destruction.
