How many fans does Prince have? Judging by the number of members on this site it seems Prince has many fans but im wondering how many he has? how many actually support him by going to his concerts and buying the latest album? rather than sum who just illegally download it? is it in the millions?

I still love Prince. I'm not going to see any of his shows until he spends some of his Lotusflower, com money on me. I think he has hundreds of thousands of fans and of course many people in the entertainment industry love his music. I'm sure most of us will agree Prince is one of the greatest entertainers alive.

6 or more. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

I know Prince use 2 have @ least 500.000 hard core fans that would buy any album he put out up until the mid nineties. But now every now and then he will have a gold album. Like the last one 3121. Lotusflow3r is almost gold. I don't know if that counts as platinum with the mplsound.... i still think that's pretty good 4 a black artist his age range that been out 4 over 30 years. Good question Dance4me3121 I guess ur smart after all...lol will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

well, taking ernestsewell's advise I looked on the home page & it said the most people ever signed on @ once was 22,480 so that gives u an idea of the more 'hardcore' fan base
who knows [Edited 11/3/09 18:41pm]

who knows I'd add another 35% to that number, because not every Prince fan is on the org. I saw some 50 year old woman cruising Target, and as I passed the LotusFlow3r endcap, the CDs caught her eye too. She paused, looked it over, grabbed a CD, said, "hmm" under her breath, and threw it in her cart along w/ her laundry detergent and paper towels. All that said to say, there are those that might pick up a Prince CD out of sheer curiosity (then toss it in sheer disgust), which is why his first week numbers (which went from Sunday-Saturday, not Tuesday-Saturday as most CDs do, thereby garnering 2 more full days of sales) were just over 300K. However, there were also fans who bought more than one copy to give away, keep, or hock on eBay to foreign buyers. I really think his hardcare fan base is under, or right at 100,000. General Top 40 fans fill in the gaps, and help fill theaters and arenas that he plays in.

I would say that 100,000 hardcore, buy everything, shove people out of their way for the latest album, fans is about right. Still, that's a cool million dollars in his pocket whenever he decides to put out a CD, when u consider he pockets roughly $10 bucks per. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

He used to have millions of fans,
after the weird name change and a string of weak albums my guess is about 500,000.. ? Prince 4Ever.

I think Ernest is probably close in his estimation. Concert sales are a whole different demographic than CD sales for an artist past their prime. Concerts bring out former fans that want to hear some nostalgic hits. A CD like Lotusflow3r with national promotion, loss-leader pricing and big box end-cap availability that sold "only" 300k is really a better peek into his hardcore fan base. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Some really hard core fans went every concert every night including aftershows, I myself who I do not consider hard core but nearly went 7 main shows and 13 aftershow, twice to Vegas in 2 month period, and I have every released album and some several times over, 3121 I have 4 copies of.

For example my brother would argue prince to the death in a pub buthasn't bought one of his albumes since Rave. Same with me to some degree-I would say i was hardcore but i am not that bothered that I haven't heard Lotus. I think if the question was "How many ambivalent fans does Prince have?" I think we could add a nought or three

who knows [Edited 11/3/09 18:41pm] well you better take off Hatrina and Bart so that's 22,478, they'll just spit in your face if you called them fans! [Edited 11/4/09 3:08am] She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

The way he's carried on closing fan websites, policing youtube and ripping off his hardcore followers with lotusflow3r.com, he's lucky he has any.
Or maybe that's the point. All the above were targeted at the harcore. Is he deliberately trying to push us away and just have is mainstream MOR fans? Or does he know that he can do what ever he likes and we'll still support him? hmm... blah blah blah
