If Prince wasnt a jw

If Prince wasn't a jw would he still be making the kind of music like he did back in the 70's and 80's? What do you guys think?

No, he wouldn't.

The provocative music he made in the 70s and early 80s was a calculated attempt to get noticed. By the time Purple Rain rolled around, he had already softened his approach (at least with respect to his lyrics).

I think the Prince we're seeing now is the person he always was. He has said as much, himself.

maybe we would still play live:

Sexy Motherfucker,
Darling Nikki,
Erotic City,
Head,
Irresistible Bitch,
Pussy Control

and maybe his recent albums would be more raw and sexy in lyrics too?

I love his older "suggestive" lyrics.... razz

Prince was what age in 1980? 22? At that young age, who isn't hot, horny and lustful? People change, grow up and their values change along with age. For the most of us anyway. I don't think being a JW changed it. He has just matured and is not afraid to show who he really is.

He just doesn't have to prove himself any more as Genesia said....

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

What Prince writes in his head we'll never know.

I believe Prince will continue to make music that expresses what he wants to express.

I believe that Christianity plays an important role in decisions that people make. Prince is a very sexy man that knows that in GOD'S eyes...only the marriage bed is undefiled. I'm waiting patiently with the Kingdom of Heaven inside of me and a Hell of a left out mood. cool

No. He wasn't a JW for much of the 90s and his music then was way different to the 70s and 80s. I prefer the music he's making now to the stuff in the 90s, JW or not.

Realistically, though, none of us know how his music output would have been affected if he had not converted to JW. I don't even think that Prince himself knows. I think that his music has been so influenced by them and saturated and diluted with religious mumbo-jumbo, who can really say how he'd be? He may not be outwardly "nasty" anymore, but I think that being a part of that "religion" has taken the hunger out of his music, leaving us with dull, uninspired music.
