I had no idea what GN was either.
Black MF In The House is funktastic.... That said, unless you are a completist, the current going rates for the CD is not justified. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

First off, yes I have the first edition of the CD which came out in late summer / early fall 1993. Purchased it through the defunct 1-800-NEW-FUNK phone line.
This topic has been rehashed before. Check it out -- The reason why the first edition is so special in Prince collectors is that, one, this was the first non-Prince-named CD, it was distributed directly from the defunct 1-800-New-Funk, and that the first edition of the CD has a song on it that has been removed from all other versions. The song removed is "Guess Who's Knockin'," in which is lifted from Paul McCartney and Wings' 1976 classic "Let Em In." The song was removed due to copyright infringement and that it did not give sample credit. Let 'Em In Paul McCartney and Wings 1976 Someone's Knockin' At The Door. Somebody's Ringin' The Bell. Someone's Knockin' At The Door. Somebody's Ririgin' The Bell. Do Me A Favor, Open The Door And Let 'Em In. Sister Suzie, Brother John, Martin Luther, Phil And Don, Brother Michael, Auntie Gin, Open The Door And Let 'Em In. Someone's Knockin' At The Door. Somebody's Ringin' The Bell. Someone's Knockin' At The Door. Somebody's Ringin' The Bell. Do Me A Favor, Open The Door And Let 'Em In. Guess Who's Knockin' The NPG 1993 (refrain) Who's that knockin' at the door Who's that ringin' the bell Who's that knockin' at the door Who's that ringin' the bell [Edited 10/26/09 22:01pm]

I know the Wings song-so the first edition is more valuable to do Prince jacking a song?

^ To clarify, no sample of McCartney's song was used, but the re-sung lyrics would have meant Prince would owe royalties from each CD sold. So it was deleted. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

the relevancy of Gold Nigga is this: for me, living in mpls, and being in the hip hop scene and personally witnessing tony m's non existant flow it was hilarious. As a prince fan that is when it became official that he'd lost his fuckin mind lol. I ignored the TC Ellis debacle because he was paying us for production projects and turned out to be a cool ass dude...when he wasnt rapping. This is also Prince turning that corner album design wise, the height of his disregard for professionals who do it for a living, notice how the graphic design kinda stayed on that disturbing path. I have both versions and, as a completist, I would say it was worth every penny. The music is not bad at all, I like it very much, but it depends on my mood. I would not be able to listen to it every day.
For 50-70€ I would call it a bargain. 70-90€ is a "reasonable" price. Don't pay over that.

yeah. I forgot it was as bad as it was. I thought maybe I wasn't listening to for some crazy reason...nop...i wasn't listening to it cuz it blows a glass dick...lol.
