Unbelieveable research wow! Thanks.
So from what I understand from it. Prince records tracks all the time but they can somtimes only go onto cds years later? No wonder everyone is so interested in that vault! But who finds out about when and where all of it is recorded?

First let me tell u how great ur work is and thank u 4 doing it.

Now what is your source when it comes to these songs. I've been wondering ever since Rosie released them if Prince was involved in any of them but since
- 1) ASCAP doesn't credit him 4 writing none of them.
- 2) They actually don't sound like Prince played on them at all, i couldn't even identify any keyboards, programming, bass or guitar that sounded like him, let alone background voice.

Therefore i concluded he wasn't involved in any of these Rosie songs, not even as a musician or an arranger. I asked people here many times and nobody ever was able to tell me anything about it.

I'd like to know what your sources are and what u know exactly about these sessions and Prince's involvement wink

Thanks a lot.

The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse, late 2003
Supercute #2 (4:11)* - 5 seconds edit of #1
Sex Me? Sex Me Not #2 (5:41)*
Vavoom #2 (4:35)*
The Dance #1 (4:41)*
Silicon #2 (4:14)* - edit of #1
S&M Groove #2 (5:07)* (Previously “Sadomasochistic Groove”) – edit of #1

The list should also include "Jesus Kiss" & "Y Should I Do That...", they're different from the 2001 versions.

Another question: Do u know 4 a FACT that these tracks were reworked (recorded when it comes 2 "The Dance") in 2003 and are not just unreleased versions/material from 1998/2001? On the NPGMusicClub.com discography in 2004, Prince clearly placed these albums in 2001, BEFORE "The Rainbow Children" & "The Dance" clearly sounds much more "High Sessions" than "Musicology sessions".

As 4 the Rosie Gaines songs, i could never find anyone who actually KNEW about this, so i'd like 2 know where u got ur info from & if u don't KNOW 4 a fact that they were reworked, maybe it should b indicated "tentative placing".

Thanks 4 ur time wink

I only included those songs in the list because they were from a Paisley Park records project. The songs in paranthesis have no Prince input. As for the rest, I don't know, but I doubt it. I'm sorry, but that's really all I know. biggrin

Well, let's just say they are tentative placings, then. I remember comparing the bootleg versions to the album versions and those are the songs I found that had differences. I placed the album versions at the year of release, as I figured they were probably made while sequencing the albums. But I don't "know". biggrin

They should be. It's a sad state of affairs when what Prince is wearing to a fashion show gets more views than an educational thread like this. But sometimes I like to just chill and watch TMZ instead of CNN, too.

Don't worry though, this thread will be referred to quite often in the future.

Hey, is it OK 2 mention the re-recordings of Prince back catalog (Warner Bros.) back in 1999/2000 4 future release. I know the re-recording of 'Soft and Wet' was said 2 b the last song done. I know the re-recording of material like 'Dirty Mind' was mentioned as well. Mayb a re-recorded version of 'The Cross' as 'The Christ' is sitting in the vault as well.

Good point. Most of the info on those (to some, so-called)re-recordings remains shrouded in mystery.
