Efan said: It's easy to see how, based on titles alone, Sheila and Prince began having disagreements about the direction her career should go in when you look at her scrapped 1989 album. Not that I wouldn't like to hear the songs planned for it.
Me, too. The now deeply religious Sheila E. was in denial about that album in a recent interview. Sad... Efan said: Regarding "Latino Barbie Doll": Shouldn't the title of it be "Latina Barbie Doll"? I know it's always listed as "Latino," but wouldn't "Latina" make more sense?
Mayte's 1994 album was also named Latino Barbie Doll. Go figure... Efan said: Finally, was there ever a configuration of the Apollonia 6 album that had "The Glamorous Life" on it?
I guess not. [Edited 9/27/09 9:32am]

Shouldn't the Rebels be included in this list? Didn't Prince also record an album with Sue Ann Carwell back in 1978-1979? Also, what about The Hookers project and the second Vanity 6 album?

Thanks SciFi. As always... great info. Purple Fact #542: Prince can make a Weeble™ fall down.

Those projects were never completed and no album configurations were made (that we know of).

Hey, what about the unreleased single: The Family - 'High Fashion' including the unreleased extended/remix version of the song? Could that be included as well. I rememeber reading that on housequake site a few years ago.

I wonder how much work was completed on the second Vanity 6 album before Vanity left the group in the summer of '83

Not that I wouldn't like to hear the songs planned for it."Girl Power" is the only one I've heard, and it's kind of a guilty pleasure. I find its title ironic, though, as it's not exactly empowering.
Regarding "Latino Barbie Doll": Shouldn't the title of it be "Latina Barbie Doll"? I know it's always listed as "Latino," but wouldn't "Latina" make more sense? Glancing at the titles, this album doesn't look too promising, imo.I don't think Sheila really cared for the tunes that Prince was giving her.Jill Jones went through the same problem. In 1988/89,Prince gave her a bunch of tunes for a planned second album. She didn't like the songs at all.

In November 1988,Jill Jones began recording a second album for Paisley Park Records.Prince was on the Lovesexy Tour,so she went to London without him and recorded an albums' worth of tracks:

Thank you for all the Jill information. She should have realized, though, that without Prince songs on her album, no one would be interested in it. [Edited 10/1/09 13:07pm]

I thought her album was titled 'Child Of The Sun'? Latino Barbie Doll evolved into Child of the Sun. Both are on the list of unreleased configurations. Latino Barbie Doll was in 1994 and Child of the Sun was in 1995. [Edited 10/5/09 5:31am]

I think that album was actually released? In 1989 on Motown Records.

yeah it was some type of limited promotional release but it failed to generate any interest so they shelved it.

it still falls into the category I recall seeing it at my local record store and it wasn't a Paisley Park album, so it does not belong on my list.

I LOVED her singing with Prince. She is the one singer who pushed him to his potential as a singer. I would LOVE to see the on stage together again. I might have a heart attack if Rosie walked out with a mic in her hand at a Prince show now. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...
