This dude just keeps getting freakier, posting mystic vids on you tube and then gives a rarely played song to a gossip website, he cracks me up!

eh, it sounds a bit bland to me. A live thing should rock harder than the original recording, shouldn't it?

And what's up with his 1 note vocal range lately? Why not just change the key to suit his voice if he's not going to sing it in falsetto?

The drums are very weak. They sound like somebody bashing on tupperware.

I love the song though and Princes guitar playing sounds excellent.

I have to agree with you on that but Cora can beat the shit outta them drums so I hope that when the show happens, she'll beat them drums silly.

Too cool! This is a classic and glad to hear him going back into the archives
If he insists on not playing new material at least he's been doing a good jobplaying some cool older songs...

Now if he would just bring back Shes Always In My Hair live wink

Thanks for posting this!! Made my day. I love it when P brings out the "vintage" stuff.

Still better than most of the R&B I hear today.

Wow! This sounds amazingly 1981! That guitar sound is almost identical, especially when doubled with that synthline. He staying quite close to the original, I like that. Very pleased.

wow, he really does know how to 'treat us so bad, when he knows we love him'!!. One minute he's suing , the next he gives us this, possibly 1 of his greatest trax of all time. Lordy, lord!. You just gotta love him. [best not to mention the drums at this stage, it is only a rehearsal after all razz ]

They are already rehearsing the medley mentioned before, as they went straight into Take Me With U afterwards. I don't mind a medley like that, if the songs stay full length!

I like it. I even think he should stick to his lower register when singing it live this time. Of course he will make it sound even more exciting with a few melody changes and coloraturas here and there.

And, yes, the band is one of my less loved ones, unfortunately. Imagine how this song would kick in with Michael B on drums and either Rhonda or Sonny T on bass! eek

yeah but perhaps the call and response schtick is gettin' a little tired and lame?. Perhaps if he took it back to hard rock / funk style of the Purple Rain days? you know with the insane harcore jam at the end that would freshen it up a whole lot.

It kept on breaking up for me but from what I could hear it was great. It really is a perfect example of Prince as the songwriter. It also shows as i've always thought that he really should start pushin this older stuff on to others to be covered.People could make a whole career of a couple of his songs
