U people r prejudging. U complain when Prince doesn't do anything 2 promote his project. Now when he does u still complain . Ur never satisfied. Let the finish project come out then judge.
By the way I heard Prince new single "Better With Time" on the radio this morning. Here in LA a huge radio market. DJ seemed impressed with it  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! I haven't bothered downloading the mixes...and after hearing/viewing this I'm still not really interested...it didn't work in the 90's and it doesn't work now IMHO....but whatever floats your boat...I don't like it much, doesn't mean its bad...it just isn't something I'm excited by....
an extended version or B-Side would be something I'd be interested in..... or maybe if it was available via Lotusfailure.com....then at least we'd have something for our $ and patience... Prince is gonna have to give me a lot more than this to justify taking my hard earned cash for his 'universe experience' this year!! |

I like the bass part of the remix, it's not bad at all and I can imagine at the right time in the right mix it would go down well in a club. The piano part I didn't like though & there'll have to be more ingenuity in the remix all together so it's not too repetitive if it's going to a club hit. I would not call these guys in studios musicians, they are technicians. Computer music will never rise above the real thing. I just heard the full 7 minute version and can confirm my initial impressions based on the "making of video".
The remix sucks. Some drugged out and drunk club goers may be able to dance to it, but it offers little else. Pretty embarrassing, really. This isn't real music. I'd rather listen to Gangster Glam or Clockin' the Jizz. Final Grade: F "Greed is Good." -Gordon Gekko | |

It's an Alesis Andromeda A6.. one of the coolest analog (but digitally controlled) polysynths ever made. That slide thing is a ribbon, which you can use to assign all sorts of parameters to. The synth has 16 voices, each consisting of 2 oscillators, and it's 16 part multitimbral (meaning that it can play 16 different sounds at once). It has 2 filters, one based on the moog ladder filter (like the minimoog), and the other on the oberheim sem filter (oberheim used to be a staple in Prince's sound in the early 80's). A friend of mine used to have one, which he sadly had to sell so he could pay the rent for his house.. lol. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "It's like everyone is begging for the past." Generally I have enjoyed Prince's music from 2004-2009. I think the A-sides are great. That's why I would rather hear more new music as a b-side as opposed to a subpar remix that Prince had nothing to do with. We all know that Prince records a ton of music, I'd like to hear more of it and b-sides are one way for that to happen. | |
