Your favorite track one the ONA Live boxed set.

I was just wondering which track you enjoy the most from the ONA Live boxed set. Since I dig the older Prince music scene more-so than his new stuff I would have to say that mine has to be Strange Relationship by far. The band is flawless and I think Prince does an excellant job on Vox. Lets hear your respones.
My DC Direct wishlist: 1) Bane, 2) Prof Zoom, 3) Superman Blue, 4) Kilowag, 5) Parasite

Mine has to be Dorothy Parker from the It Aint Over disc. I love this song live and I never heard this arrangement until I heard it at the aftershow that this cut was taken from. Priceless

I would say that the version of "Strange Relationship" heard on the Indianapolis EP given to radio stations was far superior to the version heard on "ONA Live".

Sometimes the choices that were made on which versions to include on the set were curious to say the least.

This is entirely too easy...

Dorthy Parker...(it's the only song that he doesn't try to sound like Jimi Hendrix)

"Other Side Of The Pillow" pops into my head first. . .love that song, and the sleazy dance and filthy nasty funky brass bit makes me very, very happy. "We Do This" is great too. . .really, I love almost the whole damn thing, except Anastesia, I can barely forgive him for doing what he's done to that song.

I can't help but agree with you on that one. When I heard the bass I thought to myself "you're killing me with that bass line". Then Prince said it and I knew I was right! smile

Since no one has mentioned these two, I'll go with Family Name and The Everlasting Now. Incredible performances of two funky tracks.

But all that have mentioned are great too...except for Peach. For some reason it just seems a little too dragged out and repetitious to me.

It's really difficult to tell which track is my favorite
from a great set like this...
Anyway at this moment I would say "Xenophobia" and "2 Nigs United 4 West Compton"... but maybe tomorrow I would say others...

There's no way to do it as a set, must be by disk...

ONA - L! disk 1: Xenophobia

kickass groove, amazing guitar solo (the fast part) and I LOVE it when he says, "too bad..." during leader/follower evillol

star

ONA - L! disk 2: Nothing Compares 2 U

great energy on this one, "hands up for love, y'all" is just SWEET, only bad thing is it's too short!

star

It Ain't Ovah: Joy in Repetition

simply amazing, but DP kicks MUCH ass too
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Strange Relationship. Rhonda is killing me with that bass too! When I first got it, I played that song for about 4 hours straight.

Joy in Repetition, Peach, Xenophobia, Avalanche and Anna Stesia are great too.

Muse 2 The Pharoah surprised me since the second part of it
sounds a lot harder than the album version, which is a lot
cooler. "and if the number 13...." damn. The guitar on this
is very good.

And "Anna Stesia" is cool too, altho the guitar sounds a
bit tamed in this version. It was wilder in other shows.
