What Prince song best describes 2002? 2003? I posted this at Princefams.com, but thought it would be good to repost it here.
If you could choose one Prince song that was your theme song for 2002 (based on lyrics, sound, content, style, whatever), what would it be and why? And if you could choose one Prince song that you want to be your theme for 2003, what would it be? For me: 2002: I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man - due to getting involved in a relationship with someone on the rebound. (And hearing Prince perform it in the stripped down blues out version at the Celebration with "Aint No Sunshine" really drove the point home for me not just lyrically but sonically.) 2003: I couldn't think of one until 1/1 when we got Xpectation. I would have to say Xpectation is my theme for 2003, cuz I've planted a lot of seeds in terms of personal life, career, school, extracurricular, etc., and this is gonna be the year to reap the rewards... and also the year when I (along with many others) am expecting lots of good things.
