The arrangement is snappier, and the piano seems a little louder in the mix. It's definately a better arrangement for radio. It doesn't have any of the "breakdowns" that the album version does.

Well, how do you like that! Prince does read this board, after all! I've said from Day 1, Dance 4 Me, was the best and really only choice for a lead off single, if he wanted to get the biggest bang for the buck!

that radio edit sounds kinda fan made if you ask me. the way the parts
segue sounds quite struggling. i doubt this is the real thing. is it??

Love the song but it'll tank as usual, despite remixes and a video, don't really see the point in releasing a first single half a year after the album came out.

And yes, it does still have the "Hallelujah"s but not as many.

I could see Power105 doing a mix on Dance4me,and 98.7kissfm playing it in its entirety, although it would be a shorter version for radio, should they get hold of the track. I'm kind of unsure about WBLS and Hot97..no telling what they would play since they seem to cater more to the hip/hop generation.

Also, I could definitely see Tom Joynor and Steve Harvey playing this song. I think it would do good in the southern part of the U.S. as well on r&b stations out there, since that's where you have a lot of church folk, living on parts of the bible belt. Not sure how some of them might take specific lines in the song though, as although there is a specific line that comes off "sexy", knowing Prince he probably references it to more on the spiritual side, since he has a tendency to play with words in his songs. (Not sure if I could type the part of the lyrics of I'm referencing from that track here,don't want to break any rules, but I think you know which lines I mean).

Got pretty embarrassing when singles barely made the top 40, albums disappeared after mere weeks, and even radio play charts were tanking. And that was years ago, back when he'd have videos on TV, singles on radio, albums actually on sale, and him touring and doing interviews and TV.

Just look at what Rave did in 1999: ZILCH.

Yet somehow, he's now gonna score a hit?

Why the fuck are you talking about 1998 when P has had a really good run the over the last 5 years. Please come out of the 90's and wake up.

I don't know if this song will be a hit considering P has no record label behind him but since he is in Europe and we don't know he might be doing more shows why not put out a single.

After all it is P's money that is being used not yours and not any record company. If he wants to go for it why not.

Even the kiddie pop kids think everything on MPLSOUND is cheese.
When even the kids, who are the aficionados of cheese, find something too cheesy, there is a problem.

MNPLSOUND is another catastrophic artistic embarrassment, he should just cut and walk away from it, A lot of people see prince as a great artist, a great performer, having this kind of thing on the airwaves will only hurt concert sales and potential ticket buyers opinion of him.
