I REALLY CAN'T STAND SOME OF THE SO CALLED PRINCE "FANS"

...Who bitch and moan about P's latest stuff and say he hasn't made great music since the 80's or whatever. It's like...are u listening to what i'm listening to? The guy is still making some of the most incredible music I've ever heard.

They'll never be another 1999, Purple Rain or SOTT....so get over it! That's why I love Prince's music and addicted to it, because I can put any music of his depending on my mood. RC, Musicology, Planet Earth, 3121 and Lotus Flow3r are amongst some of the best albums of this decade.

Ps, I'm just listening to Planet Earth...and i'm loving it!!!!!

I never pay attention to the haters and the only entertainment opinion that matters is my own.
Let the bitch's bitch, all I want to do is Dance, play Prince's music, Sex, Romance.
The amazing thing about Prince's music is that it's always evolving but still unmistakingly him.

i'm not going to be fake with my opinions just because i'm worried someone on the internet is going to call me a "hater".

i'm also not going to pretend to be hipper-than-thou about what i DO like because there's some cheezy-ass prince music i LOVE, and when i am in the mood i can FAM OUT with the best of them.

hmmm Is it wrong for someone to be a total fan of the early era 1978-1994 and not a fan of the later years - 1995 - now?
They can be considered (IMO) two completely different styles and sound.
There should be a clear and defined line on which you're a fan of, 80's Prince, 90's Prince or 00's Prince?
This should be the case for all artists and bands that record and release music over a series of decades, their sound always changes, as it should.
I'm an 80's Prince fan BTW! smile That it includes 1978-1989, maybe to 92.
I'm I going to get bitch slapped for admiting that??

So "fans" are hellbent on comparing everything Prince does to something he did 10 or 20 years ago. I appreciate the new music and I love the older stuff but don't really see the need to compare the two. When he does dgo for a sound that is truly reminiscent of his older work then he gets bashed for trying to hard or messing it up totally. So which is it? Do you want him as he is now or as he was then?
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I think it's that Prince set the bar pretty high from 1978-1989

I think if Prince wasn't so visual it would be different for fans
I think if there wasn't that UPTOWN EROTIC CITY Paisley Park vision cohesiveness with Proteges sounds looks and clothing, dance moves
that whole 'underground world' then Princes music wouldn't have such high expectations, but he probably wouldn't have been as big either

I'm one that is totally turned on by the PRINCE SOUND, I was so excited to hear 'Minneapolis Sound' as well as Lotus Flow3r because it was supposed to be a rock album. I totally enjoy both albums, but I've said this before, I still have a certain expectation from Prince:videos and a certain expression of the albums

PRINCEs SOUND got me hooked because it was totally different from others:example of that sound:I Don't Want 2 Leave U, Sexuality, Head, Uptown, Dear Michaelangelo, I Wanna Be Your Lover, Let's WOrk, Love Bizarre, All the Critics, Nasty Girls, Screams of Passion, Yes, the Walk, Susannah's Pajamas, the Belle of St Mark, Noon Rendezvous, Computer Blue, the Beautiful Ones, Erotic City, Sex Shooter, Dance Electric, Sugar Walls, Madhouse Ice Cream Castles and so much more from Dream Factory, SOTT, Black Album,

there is this sound that just pulls me in and I tend to connect only with post Prince albums/songs that have that sound

MyNameIsCally

I understand that people's tastes vary widely, and if someone doesn't like an album I like then fair enough. I do have a problem with those who say that a certain album or song is a waste of a CD or it's so bad it shouldn't have been made etc. because it's just ignorant to treat your opinion like fact.

I've said it before on here somewhere, to expect a man who has written as many songs as he has to create songs that are as original as his early work is just delusional, nobody can do that. The creative well of a a certain field does dry up eventually. There's only so much one man can do before repeating himself or lowering the bar to prevent something similar occuring during a song.

& as for the "better in the 80's" comments, I honestly think that Prince's 80's music reminds a lot of people here about their childhood/early 20's & brings back amazing memories for them, so no matter what kind of music Prince makes now it can never amount to the music he did in the 80's because it doesn't have the sentimental value it has for those certain people.

clapping clapping clapping I like your style Pr1nceQuik! cool

I don't feel sorry for anyone in here who compares the music of now to the music of old and hates it. The new stuff should be able to stand on it's own. I really wanna know if the same people here who were fans in 1982 or 1984 compared 1999 to Dirty Mind when 1999 came out or Purple Rain to Controversy back then. I believe you set yourself up for disappointment when you do that. I'm glad that's not me cause that would suck ass. lol
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I agree with u 100% but u made a bold statement my friend .
but its true. some people r just like the jacko fans that was waiting 4 the next thriller and the was moaning cause it didn't have the sound they thought it would. people tend 2 miss the point of being an artist. an artist is capable of creating many things and sometimes its not to ur taste but then thats the controvercial statement that, that 1 artist is making.prince as made allot of good music since the 80's and he as made allot of commercial crap just 2 make a quick buck. we tend to forget the under rated C&D album the unique sound from the come album the crap displayed on the new power soul album the vault was good besides having on it... my little pill
the rainbow children
musicology (on the couch, life o the party crap)
3121 good album ( the dance pile of shit)
planet earth good album ( somewhere here on earth and all the midnights garbage)
Condition of the heart (bin it)
Batman album
graffiti bridge
tony m rap in the0+-> album WHY
rave in u2 oops!!!! what 1 didn't work and the fashion that went with it

but thats just my opinion.

but i do agree that 2 say his last decade as been weak is total BullS**t

The 80s are over and the time has come
4 a new proclamation of love and fun

So get over it IT's the Naughty s i live through the 80's prince and love it but focused on the future also. evolution is better that being trapped in history

so just like the song goes. u can dance if u want 2 all the critics wont love @ the org.
as Morris day once said and if they dont like it!!! they can take a week off and kiss it all

Well, I think U2's best music was from the 80's and the last thing they did that was good was from the early 90's. But, ya know what, I neither buy their new stuff nor go to their fansites to bitch about them. I just don't care anymore. It's easy, Letitgo....

None of those fans want such a thing. All we want is something that lives up to Prince's talents. If you think the mediocre crap he's been putting out since 1996 is worthy of that, you better listen to those 1980s records again.

Yeah, sure. They're so great EVEN PRINCE DOESN'T PLAY THEM. They're so great Prince couldn't be arsed to promote them, couldn't be arsed to play songs from them in concert.

How 'bout them apples, hm? If they're so great, how come Prince ignores them?
