that is truly an inane statement. Did you to pray to Jeebus that yr team would win the Superbowl and they did? Oh, why that must have been a miracle! Or how about for the lord almighty gawd to protect you from vampire attack? Another miracle as well?

Have some respect for intelligence and stop bombarding people with bullshit, that's how I see it. Even on a theological level, from a Christian perspective, this has gotta be offensive: 'I prayed to god for some narcissistic desire and god answered my prayers'. Why can't people just grow up? Just cause Prince has gone off the deep end with his jehovah baloney, I don't see why it has to be acceptable on the org for every crazy-ass christian to spout off their ridiculous and conflicting beliefs about jeebus in every thread.

The profane Prince is the one I love. I should start another thread about it. Maybe Imago will help me.

Was there any doubt that he would come back? For how long? We really don't care. We (Well some of us. I am happy that he is back) are just happy that he comes back for a week, month, year, whatever. We are happy to have him home, right where he belongs.

Those of us that live in Minneapolis know, this is one great city. Minus the crime, a few bad streets here and there. biggrin

Yeah man it was, and I'm praying to god right now to rid me of my jingle-berries.
I mean, if it's so easy to get P back to Minneapolis, helping me out should be peanuts. Maybe if I pray hard enough he will also marry me. I'll throw in a few extra prayers to make sure He will make P's totter a bit bigger as well. Damn, I'm gonna be busy tonight nutty

OK folks, let's get it back on track, please.

There has likely been some fantastic recording going on at Paisley.

Let's celebrate!

There R several different perspectives on what or what not 2 pray 4, but that doesn't mean U should condemn someone 4 praying 4 something U don't agree with.
She may have felt that it would be "healthy" 4 Prince 2 be back in MPLS and at Paisley.

People don't live their lives through Prince,we enjoy his music, I live my own life for my own values, I happen to like allot of Princes work that has profanity in it .... Dirty mind album ... Darling Nikki... Erotic City .... they are some of Prince's greatest tracks, he's also produced stuff like the Cross and Lovesexy which are full of religion, I still like it, there's room for both types of Prince, thats what always made Prince interesting, he'd try different music and straddle different lines .... as for America and freedom of speach, dunno what this argument has to do with nationalities but i'm in the UK and at least 40 years ago everyone could sit on a bus (well, u can as long as u don't live in London, then u might have to stand whatever ya colour/creed lol )

How do you know all these things?

He has nothing to worry about. MJ's life's path was quite different from Prince's. Sure there are some simularities as far as career field and breakthroughs on levels of superstardom, even religon.
But they are two different people. Two different life paths.

as far as the rest goes, a kings fate come with a cup from which one must sup.
And it is a long deep drink indeed. Surrounded by those who cannot be trusted
often one's closest friends are his/her worst enemies. I say this in a manner of general speaking. Always having to sleep with one eye open, so to speak.

I hope that he has at least one true/ trustworthy friend. It sounds like Larry is a decent person of high quality in that regard. While one should never put too much faith in a man... even a single trustworthy friend, like a good sense of humor, is an invaluable asset and a great comfort to any soul.

If it be true regarding Larry, then Prince is very lucky. If that be true, he's more fortunate than I am. More power to him. Lets not forget he had an enduring friendship in Sheila E as well.
Mpre power to him. Genuwine friends are very rare to come by. I should think that goes for most anybody. But especially for someone, a wild mustang...so independant and free, who has acheived so much.

As far as walls go...the Park has been his homebase for many years. But after all Music itself is a protection too.

Maybe Prince is in better spirits than what some here suggest. Let us hope.
Maybe Prince said ...quite a while back that he was coming home soon. that he was having fun in LA ..but that he would be coming home soon?

Maybe there's nothing wrong... maybe it was part of the plan and it's all good.
Nothin wrong with that.
this is the time of the first fast.

Silk Stalkings: Prince peaces out of L.A. and returns to Minneapolis!
By Jen Boyles

Say what you will about his "personal" life, his religion, and his weird stunts, but the mysterious Purple pip-squeak's thumbprint is a permanent one on Minneapolis. When Prince packed up Paisley and left for Los Angeles some years ago, our fundamental claim to fame (aside from Jesse Ventura and snow) weakened and no more did we hear rumors of crazy parties in Chanhassen and regular sightings at random Minneapolis haunts. Suffice it to say we never wanted to be your weekend lover, Prince. And so when we heard from several sources that we're getting our pop icon back, we felt oddly validated and most certainly excited (to the point we created a Prince gossip column. It just felt right).

So, here's the word.

At approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday night, Prince and a few bodyguards hit up Envy Nightclub downtown, where his former deejay, Dudley D. (a.k.a. Dustin Meyer) was spinning in the main room.

"I spoke with him. I used to DJ and tour with him for five or six years so we're cool like that," Meyer said. "He has been in town for a month or so now -- back from L.A. after pretty much living there for a few years. This is the second or third time he has been to Envy recently."

Meyer, who is a part of local R&B group, The New Congress, said Prince appeared with longtime keyboard player Morris Hayes, and might be rehearsing with the rest of his band in the past few weeks.

"Let's just hope he cracks off a party or two at Paisley!" Meyer joked.

The Purple Rain star is likely living now at his home in Chanhassen, Meyer said, but other sources told us he'd sold that home years ago.

Another DJ at Envy, Jay "Strangelove" Tappe, said he saw Prince sitting in the VIP section of the club, where he remained for about an hour and then quietly left.

"I flashed him a peace sign and he flashed me one back," said Tappe, who added that he heard Prince had just returned from Toronto after finalizing his divorce. "He was bobbing his head by himself. Just chillin' like he always does."

Typical Prince. Cool as a cucumber while the rest of us freak the funk out and write gossip columns about him. It's all in good fun, though. City Pages heard a rumor last year that he was upset at the paper for something we'd written about him long ago. We asked Dudley if he knew about this and he said, "Mad at CP for what? Minneapolis is always his home!"

That's good news since we thought we might have lost him forever to the douche factory that is Los Angeles. So on behalf of our staff and our readers, we'd like to welcome The Kid home. Let's go crazy and paint the town purple. Either that or host a mass purification in Lake Minnetonka.

Gee, It's cool to hear something about whats going on ..but could she have been any more graceless and tactless in her writing? Some of Jens statements sounded a bit catty to me. Whats up with that?

Does she always write like that? Or is she having personal life issues ?
Not gettin' her fair share lately? lol

I thought that her writing was a bit mean spirited...and conveyed a lack of professionalism in that light.
this is the time of the first fast.

You may not live your life through Prince but some people on this board do. They are obsessed with hearing profanity in music and lewd lyrics. It is a constant topic on this board by the same people over and over again.

It is as if they have no life of their own and they must live vicariously threw P’s rants.
It is insane to expect a 50 year old man to never grow up and change. We just saw what happened to Michael Jackson when one never lets go of their adolescent years.
I enjoyed all of P’s music religious and profane but dude has moved on and it is time for some fans to move on as well.

As far as my remarks about freedom of speech you have posters on this board who apparently believe it is a crime against society to mention “Jesus”. I just wanted to let them know that people have right to praise Jesus for any silly thing they like as a part of our freedoms.

In addition, African-Americans have been riding in the front of the only since the late 1950’s.
