How about a performance in Australia - a showcase of music?

I would really love prince to come to Australia and do a concert, maybe more of an intimate setting old and new, jazz anything his heart desires. Any other Australians think this would be a good idea.

And then a leap across the ditch to Auckland, he has NEVER EVER played New Zealand, the only big American star to snub New Zealand, even Michael and Madonna have been here several times

Prince last tour of Australia was 2003.

Speaking to The Twinz and Cora post a 3121 show they mentioned plans for Prince and the band to tour later that year, but alas it didn't eventuate.

I would love to see him tour here again, especially if he does the special VIP and OnStage tickets like last time.... ahhh memories.

I think Rove's stupid questions put him off Australia. Rove is so not funny, such a dick.

I think it was to promote 3121 about 3 years ago when they had a contest to go to one of the 3121 house parties. He didn't play, I think it was just a video link.

Me too. woot! Went to both shows.

Madonna has only toured Aussie once, and Prince twice. There have been so many rumours of Prince coming through the years, and tickets did go on sale in '93 briefly for a Western Springs show but got pulled pretty quickly.

Yeah, come back to Australia Prince!

Also, Prince has toured here twice, but visited here on a 3rd occasion in 1993

Hey, thank you all for replying, nice to hear some support. I would like a more intimate setting though, as you sometimes lose the atmosphere in too big a concert. I never knew that he came last time, I was definately out of the loop where music was concerned. Lets hope something happens.

There was also a rumour he was going to perform at Gisborne on Millenium eve, but that fell through when the organisers couldn't get their shit together, first it was Prince, then David Bowie and finally we got 2nd rate kiwi acts - snore!!!!

I went to 5 of the 7 Sydney Diamonds and Pearls shows. Was gutted he didn't do a Sydney aftershow like he did in Melb and Brisvegas. But then I was overseas when he did the second tour so missed that. I would have over to have been at the Basement gig. Finally I got to experience an aftershow in London at the Marquee Club after a ONA show.. I have great memories of the Diamonds and Pearls Sydney concerts, one show I managed to get front row centre seat! I was under the Insatiable bed! Crazy fun

Not forgetting that first 'soundcheck' on 3 October when you said before you so wanted to see and hear Prince play bass ... and he did!

Was I there with you?

As I recall, you were in the queue with me before the soundcheck and you told me you wanted Prince to play bass, and then, in the soundcheck he eventually picked up his bass and launched into what seemed as if it might be 'Days Of Wild' but I think he sang 'Thank4lettinme'. After the soundcheck I walked up to you and said, "So you got your wish", and you had a big grin on your face.

Does that ring any bells?
