Two songs from the same time do it for me Adore and Crucial. Other great vocals include The Beautiful Ones, Free and Still would stand all time. Best vocals lately is definetly the Dance from 3121

The Ballad of DP for me. I just like the flow from singing to spoken - 'I ordered... 'yeah let me get a fruit cocktail I ain't too hungry'... Dorothy laughed...'

Probably because it's also my favourite song - that might help.

I like to think I was there for Prince's best vocal performance. The 2nd O2 show I went to he closed it with Nothin Compares 2 U and was wailing at the end until his voice broke. That was pretty amazing.

I also love his flow from singing to spoken in many of his songs. I can't pinpoint a favorite moment because there are so many songs where the lyrics are just killer combined with his vocal range and it just blows me away. I have to admit that Nothing Compares 2 U live gives me chills! As much as he loves his higher resister, I absolutely love his lower register.

his best vocals shine thru, when the music is minimal...
how come you dont call me anymore is powerful!! the vocal range is beautiful..and it is soulful...when i talk about Prince's raw vocal talent,i allways use this song as an example..and wade in the water with patty labelle...Still would stand all time, Question of u, Power Fantastic, Pink Cashmere, i can go on and on wink

Ive never heard Prince sing as well as he did in the song Purple Rain (the album version) Prince has a great voice, but he rarely showcases it the way he did then, in my opinion. Of course, another great example of his vocals would be the beginning of the For You album.
Anyone else have good examples of his great vocal moments?

"The Morning Papers" is absolutely beautiful vocally, but over all, I do prefer it when he doesn't strain that falsetto. I mean, I love how versatile his voice is and how funky he can make the notes, but I prefer his smooth vocals, like in "Blue Light" or "Sometimes It Snows In April"
