You need to research that HBO documentary, I think it was called "Late night" and it explains the rivalry and how Jay ended up with the show even though David was supposed to be a shoe-in to succeed Johnny Carson. Does it really go back that far??? That was friggin 1992.

Ummm kinda lol. I was hopin she would prove a non-believer like myself wrong but after last nite i am now most certain that Prince does not believe in her that she can sing live or sing back-up. What's funny is she looked like a extra prop for the background scenery . Bria should just go back into her modeling career or continue bein a video model

Awesome performance. When I heard Jay say "Somewhere Here On Earth" I screwed up my face and was like, "Say whaaaa? Why? Oh well, I love this song." Prince killed it. No one is better live!! His makeup looked NICE. The set was cool. Bria was ind of awkward because she really had no purpose up there except to look pretty. That note P wrote to Jay was funny because if you watch it, I don't think he could read it... and so he gives up and just says thank you. Haha. All in all... I am pleased. I could read you poetry and then we could make a story of our own.

There is some weird rivalry between Jay Leno and David Letterman right now. I read an entire GQ magazine Q&A interview with Jay Leno and they refer to something happening between the two, but never explaining what, like I as a reader should have already known? I think it was chronicled in a book "The Late Shift" (movie too) back in the mid 90's. Essentially, it's always been stated that somehow Jay stole the "Tonight SHow" gig from Letterman who was always assumed to be the heir to Johnny Carson...Leno was a guest host for years but Letterman was a Midwest boy like Carson and also had more of a personal relationship with him. Leno got the gig of course but seems to genuinely feel bad about the subsequent deterioration of his friendship with Dave..after all, Leno was always one of Dave's favorite guests during Dave's NBC days. The rumor is that Leno's final show tonight will include a major surprise guest at the end, one that Jay is pretty excited about. Not that I think it will be, but if it were Letterman that would be quite the reconciliation. "Because when you say annihilation my friends, you've said all there is to say" - Henry Rollins

I can't believe he turns 51 in over a week. It's crazy how talented this man is. purplecam! Hey tomato! I hope you are well! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

A classic performance. Prince looked great *(perhaps a little effeminate), and I loved the jazz break in the song, with great musicians and a great piano player (who was that?). I agree that his voice is one of his greatest instrument and he played it well last night

If you think about it, it really is a jazz influenced song to begin with. He does some nice riffing on the album. However, I did like the bigger improv/smokey bar feel he did on Leno. I loved the set too. Much better than past ones (or lack thereof). RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I would have loved more Prince and less Billy Chrystal, anyways, he looked awesome as always. I loved his falsetto, but I would have gone with a more upbeat song.

I have watched the performance multiple times and I think it has become my favorite of the 4. The vocals were stunning, he looked fantastic, and for some reason when Prince really nails a slow jam, the electricity level just goes through the roof. You could just hear it in the crowd.

prince? looking effeminate? OMG! LOL But I agree tho that he was looking that way even more than he usually does. The lip gloss, the make up job was particularly cakey, the hair ("baby hair" gelled down the forehead and side)... I know he's said on Tavis he doesn't like the male voice which is why he sings his ballads in falsetto, but damn his voice wasn't the only thing he emasculated last night. (That being said, it was a top notch performance) "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32
