His outfit was sexy as hell... the jacket was DIFFERENT but only Prince could pull off that jacket and we all know this.....his make-up was gorgeous and his lips were so.....oooooh wheeeee. The hair was sexy as hell. the whole stage set up was such a sexy-cool vibe with a jazzy feel. My favorite performance so far this year.....damn P...u go boy. I CAN'T STOP SMILLING

SHOE" is a nondescript track from a downright abysmal work, Planet Dreck. He has a wealth of material in his back catalog, but he picked that dud.
The performance and song choice had all the appearance of a cheesy lounge act.

He played "Somewhere Here On Earth"....!!!!! That's one of my fav songs, so I was SO HAPPY! The set was awesome. It was set up like a jazz club, with a bar and everything. Bria was sitting at the bar with Prince and then Prince walked up to the mic to sing. He was wearing a sparkling silver and black tux jacket. And, when he was leaving the stage, I saw him take Bria's hand. lol Anyway, it was great! Thank you soooo much to the two people who made it possible for me to be there! U know who u are! <333 Oh, and Prince was gorgeous. As always. Edit: He didn't talk. :/ But, the song makes up for it! [Edited 5/28/09 18:38pm] Oh my god!!! u saw him take her hand???? so it's true then - they are together??? I don't know whether to laugh or cry!!! or... ..be happy for them

That was probably the most wonderful stage I've ever seen. Brilliantly done and it fitted the song so well. It had a bit of that UTCM bar feeling and the way he jumped off the little stage to get the crayon (that's french, understand?) just reminded me of that cool and funky Christopher Tracy!
Oh and was that Bria sitting at the bar? It looked like her from time to time, especially in the end where you can see her face a bit. Unfortunately it's very blurred..

^^ Yes, that was Bria sitting at the bar. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I was just listening to this performance and it hit me that,
the original version gives the impression that he's longing for someone he doesn't know where she is, but on this performance, the whole mood is changed as if he is content knowing where she is, and translate to a love song instead. I guess.

Yes I totally agree, on the studio version it's so random as tho she is drifting in space and he's calling out to her wishing to know what she's up to, and inthis performance I feel that he is directly singing to her, and embellishing the song, making it way more powerful and beautiful. Thank you Prince

Thank you Prince He was singing about Jay Leno, and sent the message to the audience with this song. Translation: "Don't worry folks. Jay may be leaving the Tonight Show now, but he's still Somewhere Here on Earth....on NBC at 9PM Central." "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Well, after those three lame performances on Leno a few weeks ago i thought he was back to treading water again. Thank god for the SHOE performance the other night, it was amazing. Why he doesnt take himself off on tour alone with just a piano, a guitar and some sparse backing tracks, i'll never know!! One nite alone!!! Stop singing a good game, and actually do it.

Prince was out of tune often. If he had done that whimpering and squealing on Americal Idol they would of tossed his azz. It was still a cool performance, but Prince's vocals are never spot on live. He's not a great singer, like Brian Mcknight or Trisha Yearwood.
what???? I did not write this. I havent learned how to quote one thing out of a bunch of quotes...oh well this cracks me up! Get a clue.... [Edited 6/2/09 2:59am] Love is whatever u want it 2 b

What an ever so beautiful performance.
The fluctuation in his voice and body language said it all. For every woman in the entire world that ever, was and shall be, those written in the ancient books from sea to sea and those that are in the book of life for eternity... Truly heard the frequency of Somewhere Here On Earth. I said to a wise man once a long time ago... love true love is like gum on a shoe... you know it's there and it is always with you and truly SO very hard to get off of you. I personally know this feeling of missing somebody so deeply that your breath no longer is your own and you know the air you breath is the same breath the earth offers to you even you are Somewhere Here On Earth the same Somewhere Here On Earth the other is...destiny. It doesn't matter whom reads this or tries to dis-engage it's truth for it isn't what you read and feel that tells you the story of truth in love but that I am telling in truthin my love of the truth within the story in itself, love does not dis-connect and with GOD Jehovah forever IT remains Right here Right now...in all places... "Somewhere Here On Earth". So missed and unconditionally unjudged you are by me, Mr. Nelson. GodBless You with all my heart in honesty and for not one ounce in return to me. Freely, Thank you.
