I've seen several versions of We Can Funk. One that I really enjoy is the one that segues from Can't Stop This Feeling I Got. Not sure how similar or different it is to other versions (coz i havent heard them all) but i absoultely love it and think its a lot better than the one on GB.

I have this CD and both songs are better than the GB versions. We Can Funk is a bit slower and much darker. Prince's vocals are much more powerful and emotional than the GB version with G.Clintion which I really hate.

I know these have been mentioned but:

Endorphinmachine: The cowbell on TGE really really kills it for me (no more cowbell!)

Zannalee: the Fargo-esque Minni accents just render it close to unlistenable.

The Most Beautiful Girl in the World: The ridiculous sound effects on TGE just seems like he got bored and decided to add some silly on-the-nose sounds. (really? a clock ticks when he mentions time..)

I also find his 'Las Vegas' style interludes and flourishes often distract from songs.
