One thing I love about Lotusflow3r is the way Prince builds a narrative up much further than is necessary. When I first listened to dreamer, I loved the image of gripping the steering wheel too tight. Then suddenly it goes from cops in cars to helicopters chasing you. THEN all of a sudden, they're dropping chemicals on the city in the middle of the night. WTF!??! It's great, he takes the concept of paranoia and turns it up to 11, from a small event to a massive one. And to my knowledge, no evil corporations drop chemicals on the city at night. It's ridiculous but cool too.

There's another example too, in Feel Better, how he has the quip about throwing the ball. It could have just been a throwaway line (pun intended), but then he goes onto describe how it hit the bystanders, and how they want to sue him. Which brings us to the BEST line on both the new albums, which is of course "cuz they know I wish them Heaven and OWWLOFDISGOWWWLD!". It's so awesome, it takes me back to the climax of Darling Nikki or the introduction to Interactive. So he tyakes a quck quip, but then makes it part of the story! Unlike, say, Turn Me Loose, which is all crass, no sass.

Anyway, I'm loving the followthru right now.

Whenever he puts in a line about Purple this or that (hippies - like in Life o the Party for example), he's acknowledging his legacy and it makes me feel like part of a big family

Acid Rain comes from somewhere...There are definitely Pollutants and chemicals in the air...and vegetation is sprayed...There is a concern...although I am someone that believe that everything has a solution so I don't worry anymore...There are the right people with the know how to fix our Planet and bring it back to optimum health.

Believing is more important than fear.
