Lotusflow3r and The Rainbow Children I really feel that 4 songs from Lotusflow3r could have been on The Rainbow Children CD.
From the Lotus Feel better, Feel good... ( It sounds like twin of The Work pt.1, but much better!) Love like Jazz Back to the Lotus. One can also claim that 77 Beverly Park is in a similar category. What do you think?

None of those songs fit on The Rainbow Children for the simple reason that they aren't filled with JW dogma. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

So it seems that Prince is really found of his "Rainbow Children" I also gotta admit that I am really glad that Lotusflow3r does not include "The deep voice", that almost ruins the album.

Musically,I consider LF to be a fairly close cousin to TRC especially the "songs" you mentioned. TRC is more rewarding for me musically but LF comes very close. It's a minor classic whereas TRC is bold and brilliant.

Are you suggesting that edits from the released track 'The Rainbow Children' are the recordings of 'From The Lotus' and 'Back 2 The Lotus' released on 'Lotusflow3r'? ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

I don't necessarily hate it (there are a couple of tracks that I like a lot - musically, if for no other reason). But I have a very hard time getting past the anti-semitism and theocratic disorder of the thing. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That's truly remarkable. Whilst 'From The Lotus' and 'Back 2 The Lotus' share a not dissimilar guitar phrase with part of the coda on 'The Rainbow Children', the underlying song is played in a different key to the Lotusflow3r tracks. Even more surprising, Prince credits John Blackwell with having played on the track, 'The Rainbow Children' but he credits the drumming parts you say are edited from that recording and issued as Trax 1 and 12 on 'Lotusflow3r' to Michael Bland, with the bass now played by Sonny T. I agree. As much as I am enjoying LF, TRC is more cohesive and, so far, can't be touched. http://prince.org/msg/105/307615

From and Back to the Lotus, compared to TRC have a very different vibe to me, the lotus tracks to me have spacey aural feel, while TRC to me sounds very meat-n'-potatoes.

Nothing wrong with the similarities. I gotta re-visit the Rainbow Children. I lost the album some years ago and I need to buy it again. But first I'm gonna listen more to Lotusflow3r and especially to 77 Beverly Park. It's fun when Prince throws out surprises!
