I've never been to a Prince concert before.

I've seen pirated videos and even own some dvds but I've never enjoyed his highness in person. What can I expect from one, and does anyone know if he's doing a tour with this new album?

You poor, poor, sheltered thing comfort

You don't know what you're missing mate - it's amazing!

Expect... Music that will make you want to record the whole thing in your head, electric atmosphere, Funk that will make you wanna dance, guitar solos that will make you go eek And if I'm there, expect to see me freaking out like a teen at a Beatles concert lol

Don't expect any sexy songs or swearing though pout
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

I'm from the southern part of the U.S. I haven't been following prince that long. He was in Nashville for Musicology but I didn't pull the trigger in time. Now I'm regretting it and worried that I might not get my chance again.

I also have never been to a Prince concert before. Became a big fan or fam or what have you when 3121 came out. I had got Musicology as a gift from my parents and dug it. Even got invited to a show in Boston on the Musicology tour by a good friend. But I turned it down because I just wasn't that into Prince at the time.

Fast forward to 05-06, my mentor and teacher in high school said hey, check out dirty mind.

And that was the beginning of it all.

Since then he hasn't been in the area. Please, please, please prince, come to boston.

I get goosebumps from your music, tears from watching performances on video. I just wanna experience the music live!!!!!

I like it when he slaps that bass and it rumbles my gut! So u can expect that. But whatever u do don't make the mistake of leaving prematurely when he says "thank u, goodnite".

A very tight show. Sometimes, truncated hits though, which is annoying.

His aftershows are the best though. If he has an aftershow, do not miss it.

Pardon my ignorance (I've never been to a concert either), but how do you know if there's going to be an aftershow, where it will be, etc.?

Hi. He's often not as secretive about the aftershows anymore and they are usually advertised. Otherwise you will always get the leads from the org. We just seem to know lol

Even if you have to wait until 4 in the morning for the aftershow, you should always stick with it as they are usually the most memorable thing about a Prince tour or show. They are always so different you can go every night and see something totally different. Awesome cool

I saw 4 of the aftershows in London in 07 and they were all fantastic.

The ones I saw took were announced at the end of the concert by one of the band members, normally after most of the crowd had already left.

But I always found out prior to that from lesbians. falloff

When you want to the the real scoop at a concert, just tap on the shoulder of the woman with the mullet and baggy t-shirt. She'll know what to tell you.

It's a life changing experience. It'll make you appreciate music as a whole in a totally different way. It did for me when I saw Prince for the first time 8 years ago. I hope you and many others here who haven't had the chance to see the man in person will get that chance real soon. It's a show you MUST NOT miss.

NIN was the concert that did it for me. Oh lawd, after that show I was convinced music could change the world, and make it a darker, bleaker, more hostile place. mushy

It's the best. My first concert was the parade tour at Wembley Arena. I was awestruck. But what hit me then as it does now is the intimacy of a Prince gig, he is incredibly open and at the time I was shocked by the difference between his perceived persona and his actual presence

When I went to my first Prince show, I actually felt my legs get weak, like they were becoming jelly. I was just so amazing and stunned that I was actually seeing Prince in person. I think I was amazed that he was a real person and not just an image on TV or on a CD. Plus the music was just incredible. It was the Hit N Run Tour when it hit the Cox Arena in April 2001.
