Bria told Tavis that in confidence during the video break. You could tell she was embarrassed when he spilled the beans. I'm glad Tavis did mention it. It was very telling as to her real thoughts on the CD. I would have loved to hear the conversation between the two (or lack thereof) on the drive home. i sort of agree with bria's assessment but that's what i love about 'elixir.' it's so relaxed. these are not loud songs but they do have prince's touch (in a way i feel the other two albums really don't). this is the thing about prince's post- jw music: while i find myself increasingly disagreeing with his philosophical musings, the about-face in terms of his philosophy is not a deal-breaker for me. i loved 'trc' and i love 'elixir.' each contribute in their own way to pushing his music further. it's time for a new direction / it's time for jazz to die

I think the interview was excellent. Even if Prince knew the questions beforehand, that is not all that uncommon. Just to see him relaxed and dignified within his own skin was great to see. One comment on the chemtrails conspiricy: Dick Gregory is one of the most intelligent people living. Period. I have always admired him, and that's coming from a 43 year old white man who could never share the same experiences as he. Simply put, I just think that we should appreciate what we can get from a man who cherishes his privacy. I mean, we could start parishilton.org or britneyspears.org if y'all want, but I think, to a person, no one would go for the whorish stuff that goes on concerning those two young "ladies" (and I use that term as loosely as those two women are). Sure, there are questions I would Prince to answer (mostly concerning the creation of some songs), but that always occurs. Someone (or a bunch of someones) always come away wanting more. My ex and I GOOD friends, and I know her better than her mother or siblings, but I still don't know EVERYTHING about her. That's the mystery of life. Accept it.

I am sure that Morris was indeed in Minneapolis during that time but I don't know how old Bria is though. She claims Morris Hayes took her to Paisely Park when she was 17. She's 38, right? So that was 20-21 years ago -- 1989. Did Prince know Morris then? Was he inviting people to Paisley? Seems suspicious to me.

Great interview. I thought it was very insightful. Some things kind of has me scratching my head like there being 8 presidents before George Washington, or something like that. Very interesting about Soundscan and that Prince doesn't know how many units of Purple Rain sold. I didn't know he had epilepsy as a kid. Bria's interview was cool too. She looks like she's 6' tall.. Check out my tribute to Prince

Seems suspicious to me. Who said she was 38? LOL And let's remember that some eventual band members are around way before anyone ever knows who they are. Even Kirk, Damon, Tony knew Prince way before 1990. He knew Wendy a year before. He knew Sonny for ages (and wasn't he in Jesse's Revue early on?). etc etc. So Morris could have been around, or at least known Prince in some regard from the days of Batman or Graffiti Bridge or even Diamonds and Pearls. Who knows.

the lyrics 2 the sacrifice of victor says it all about epilesy No, it says he was epileptic until the age of 7. The whole song isn't about having epilepsy.

the thing is prince seems to be a more spirtual, and more religious person then a lot of his fans.
He seems to really know whats going on, i caught the interview i think it was a few nights ago. but he is a little arrogant, but intelligent.

Not a single question about his increasingly litigious nature, the love/hate relationship with fans or that lame website. for real though what a lame interview most of the lame questions were not even answered and just led right to what Prince wanted to say all part of being a Prince fan i guess

Just took this crappy online screencap from the Let's Go Crazy video (2:38 in) which has part of the same scene. That's me just to the right of the pause graphic, standing next to the squad car with my back to the camera. It's the part of the film where Francis L shoots himself after Prince turns on the light switch and they cut to the cops driving up the street and onto the yard. My neck is really long 'cause I was still in high school. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Wow, Prince can be really boring in person eh? What a dull interview, delivered in uncharismatic monotone. And the interviewer is such a brown-noser, it's embarrassing. I guess that's why he's on PBS...
