very insightful in2 his childhood cant wait 4 2nights interview!! Yeah I thought he came across better than he did in the clip. But i would love to see him being a bit more fun though. He was constantly laughing and joking with staff at the indigo club last year. Seems like a genuinly funny guy. Enough of the business talk! [Edited 4/28/09 13:15pm] "My God it's full of Stars"

i do not recall ever being called a hater at hq but i do not believe this is a reflection on the management at either establishment. it's time for a new direction / it's time for jazz to die

Not a single question about his increasingly litigious nature, the love/hate relationship with fans or that lame website. Thanks for posting the video response.

That'd be an excellent question! Do Bria own her masters? Tamar apparently didn't since the album never saw the official light of day. Tavis interrupted Prince right when he was going to start talking about music. Douche. "Ya know I write a lot of music... (Tavis cuts him off)" If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

So to get back on topic...
I really enjoyed listening to what Prince has to say. I had to wait until midnight until it was on where I live. Prince has such a unique view of everything I believe it takes a certain level of intelligence to even begin to understand where P is coming from. What can I say... I love him and this interview made me love him even more I love music

Questions I would've liked to hear Tavis ask Prince.
* his inspiration for doing Jimi's music * how he approached the entire LOTUSFLOW3R project * Is Elixir the musical direction Bria wanted to go in, or just her under his production....how much collaboration btw them both. * discuss working with Michael B-Sonny T again

Part 2 of the interview was just as good as the first. There were a couple of things that Prince said that really stood out to me (but I won't post them here, since I know that some of you have not seen it yet). RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Part 2 was far better! Prince and Bria both sound very humbled by the critical reception to her cd:
-Prince backtracking on the Sade comparison -Bria saying to Tavis they made exceptional elevator music It is clear that they both read the reviews here on the ORG because this is the only place where anyone brought up Chante Moore's name. Of course, the comparisons always cast Bria as a lesser vocalist, but nonetheless they were made here. All in all, I think Prince sounds very intelligent and comes across quite informed when talking about the ins and outs of the music business--his field. He has truly mastered his field of endeavor and is to be credited for that. I'd like a fact check on whether her story about when/how they met could be true.
She claims Morris Hayes took her to Paisely Park when she was 17. She's 38, right? So that was 20-21 years ago -- 1989. Did Prince know Morris then? Was he inviting people to Paisley? Seems suspicious to me. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Prince didn't backtrack, he explained himself. It was obvious what he meant months ago when he said "We got tired of waiting for Sade to make a record." That is in NO WAY a comparison (vocally or otherwise) to Sade with Bria. And as far as Prince reading the Org....BBBBWWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA. RIGHT! You have no idea if some other reporter mentioned Chante Moore or anyone else. None of us do. But the drama side is always more interesting.

You are free to interpret how you like... it is clear to me that he had to dig himself out of that Sade comparison. He did a good job at it. Of course he should have never invoked someone as iconic as Sade in the first place, and he must have regretted it the minute he heard her name leaving his lips. True re: reading the ORG... nonetheless, it is clear he spoke to many issues raised here, which is a good thing. Whether or not he was responding directly (and I think he was--but that is just my opinion), they were both quite humble and it was refreshing to see and hear.
