I defend prince alot, and i'll stick up for him against the negative nancy naysayers on this board. But this book thing is lame. Prince get's docked points for this one. The price isn't what people should be upset about, it's the content.

Now, about the Opus book . . . the only thing even remotely tempting is the chance to win a concert for 50 friends. It makes more sense to have Prince fly to US instead of everyone to him though, and are plane tickets/hotel included? If they're not, then Prince is really stimulating the economy! Another thing to keep in mind: you will most likely be hob-nobbing with movie and music stars at "your" concert. That could be another selling point. It won't be just you and your friends in a room.

• Too much money - that's 2 months mortgage
• Don't need the book or Indigo Nights - already have them
• Don't need the iPod
• Not interested in the 40-minute video - would've been more tempting as 3-hour+ or multiple videos

This opus thing represents so much of what is wrong in our culture. Go check the main opus site at http://www.opuscollection.com ... you will see how these corporate creeps are packaging simulations of creativity and calling it "urban art". You will see crap named "Maradona opus" and opus editions of football clubs.

So... prince opus tries to sell you the ILLUSION of owning something unique - when in fact it is yet another late capitalist marketing exercise for bored (and rich) consumers who already have it all.

Really, this prince opus is probably Prince´s lowest point in his entire career.

Well of course he can put 4o mins of footage on the ipod, he can't put it anywhere else because he didn't record full quality video. He only recorded the live 'screen feeds' which is pretty stupid i'd say. but it would fine on a 3inch screen.
