U're Gonna C Me... wasn't really a fan of the original that much and just as meh about this version.
did you say chocolate box redeems itself? I like that! "somewhat" It gets better as more instrumentation kicks in, drawing my attention away from the gawdawful refrain "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

U're Gonna C Me is HOT!
I feel like it's 1982, 83, 84!!!! I have never had this feeling at first listen of a Prince song since Parade. And I have heard the original on NPGMC. This is my fave so far, I am listening for the first time all the way through. I wish u heaven

"HERE" is his greatest ballad of the last 5 years. Period.
The last moment of "Better With Time" from the build up of the final verse ("When the hair that frames that face...") and on to the end is, how do you say, transcendent. I am in the middle of "Ol'Skool Company". For me the only disappointment about this whole record is in this track as well as the first three. It is when Prince tries to be "Urban", using words like "da man", "sho'ty", "power to the people", "suckas" the fact that he is naming a song "Ol'Skool", this is where he misfires IMHO. I am glad he is at least using the sped up voice for this track, and I know the MPLSoUND is his Black Album for the new milenium, so it is a small thing. But he can still groove that LINN-1 Drum machine. Got one more track to go, Prince. Ooops, "No More Candy 4U" is playing--this track fucking ROCKS! Chalk one up for the Kid. I wish u heaven

What did you want him to say Fuckas!! He said Suckas because thats what 50 year old black men say. Prince trying to sound urban? You guys are so funny Dance... Let me see you dance

The bitch is back in “Skool”.
Camille just took the shortcut to higher learning, flicking the pocket lint along the way with the rest of the pedestrians who walk but don’t really walk. “Turn Me Loose” is fresh out of the dryer, straight into the ditch. Is this going to hold up, because right now it’s floating on the weight of its own stench. The hairs on my arm are signing up, lining up, and saluting the drill instructor. Also right now “Dance 4 Me” surely has my flock gathered in full formal regalia. And let the choir testify with a unholy rotation on the one. This has to be the origin of some of that “Controversy” scuttlebutt, a nasty shake backed by perilous curves unveiled within the straddled confines of a limousine. Halleluiah and amen. Two fantastic songs to these early ears. But admittedly I’m still on the initial dig and very much trying to recover from Prince laying down a “Dreamer”, finding a funky dollar sign and recreating the big bang in a way once familiar yet totally foreign to “The Rainbow Children”. “(There’ll Never B) Another” didn’t properly set the table for such blue blood. Go to bed, you sleep-deprived fool.
