I'm pretty sure when Princewas cursing out of jis ass no would could tell him shit either. lol Even though he didn't/ doesn't approve of it he shouldn't really have gotten into a debate about it with her , if she she wants to curse so be it. As for Sinead, girl so you cursed out Prince okay didn't we establish this when it happened decades ago?...move on to other things that people actually want to hear, like some good music and bury this old ass fossil of a story. lol

that was BALLS ass....

people don't really remember who she was at the time...
she was this girl from ireland out into the world
who was tuff.... yet had this most delicate side to her that was beautiful and sincere and people loved her for that...

she told the pope off, prince off, everyone who threaten her..
who tried to induce there beliefs into her
and she stood her ground.

she was angry
and full of fire
and she didn't once show her "cunt" as some call her
but show her true self in many different situation
she was only 19-20 years old at that time
lindsay come on!!
Madonna was Strong but in a different way
she gave birth to a different breed
where as O'connor she found herself and she found me listening
today lady artists should regard her as a hero

and TOOK MANY PUNCHES

she believed in something.. and it was a blessing to witness her shining...

MRGee

Someone needs to reprint her ET interview from when NOTHING COMPARES 2 U was NOMINATED for a GRAMMY. There was a BIG FIASCO at PAISLEY PARK and she didn't attend the GRAMMY'S and because of her Ripping Up The POPE'S Pic on SNL she Cost PRINCE the GRAMMY for one of his BEST SONGS. SHE was TOO LOUD and OBNOXIOUS back then and CONTROVERSIAL and she only did the song cause STEVE FARGNOLI was her MANAGER at the time. I loved the video it was BEAUTIFUL and I actually bought Lion And The Cobra and Nothing as a 7" box set,but after the fight with Prince I stopped Listening to her.

Somewhat doubtful since the song's release and the SNL incident were 2 and a half years apart.

BTW, Sinead, there's a new pope...I'll find you a picture.

Sinead O'Connor has revealed that she told Prince to "f*** himself" when the two disagreed over her swearing in interviews.

The singer had previously recorded a cover of one of the star's tracks for her 1990 album I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got.

O'Connor said: "I didn't hit it off with Prince. I met him after I'd recorded 'Nothing Compares 2 U' and he said he didn't appreciate how I used bad language in my interviews.

"I told him to go f*** himself and he wasn't very happy."

I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got is re-released by EMI in a two-disc version on April 13.

I'll do it for him! biggrin

Tell me - how many of you would appreciate someone telling you how to speak when you're an adult. How many of you would say the same thing as her? I, for one, would.

If he was this way with Sinead (a strong independent artist who's not afraid to speak her mind),can you imagine how much he controlled his own female proteges? He probably coached them on what to say,and what not to say, during interviews...lol

And for my money, there hasn't been a more beautiful voice in music for the past 30 years.

First of all, words get misconstrued, misinterpreted, and people get misquoted... so who really knows if she's telling the truth or not. And who really knows if Prince actually said that to her. If she did say it, she was nothing more than an unappreciative cunt. She would've maintained her small fan-base without Prince's song. If Prince did say that to her, I can imagine it being in a sarcastic way, and not like he was bitching at her ass. The man is always joking around, and so many idiots (like Justin Timberfuck) take Prince's jokes the wrong way, just like alot of foreigners like Sinead don't understand American sarcasm. Like I said, who really knows what the F was said, and how it was said.

>And for my money, there hasn't been a more beautiful voice in music for the past 30 years.

Wow... you definitely must not listen to much music then.

I doubt Prince was joking when he said that to her.

Second that. I also like Sinead's version. I actually think both of these artists do the song more justice than P. Their versions are more introspective, heartbreaking and psychological. Prince's version is a nice gospel screamer that does not get to the emotional core of his own lyrics.

BTW, Didn't Sinead initially say that Prince assaulted her and refused to let her leave his mansion? Wasn't this in the middle of her drug use/depression? She's talented but I tend to doubt some of her proclamations ("I'm a lesbian/priest/atheist")

Sinead really had no business being a pop star. Not that she's not great, she's just too sensitive. She has a reputation for toughness because she speaks her mind, but when she was attacked for the SNL/Pope thing I think it really crushed her.

It was really sort of a fluke that she had such a huge hit, and her career before & since is a better representation of who she is. A very talented singer/songwriter, but not a star.
