I think those of us who think the stuff is "meh" have shut up until getting to hear the rest. Why continue to dog something once you've stated your opinion? I recently had reason to go back through his old output (compilation for a friend) and it really pointed out how mediocre what I have heard SO far is. Again - I want to hear the rest before I knock or praise anything. It's more of the same to me so far, good playing skills backed by so so songwriting - and I mean compared to MANY other people at this point (not just his material) and pretty meager production. I can't help but think he needs someone stopping him at a point and saying that is great NOW, so leave it alone. Or - "really?". I certainly would want some people like that if I had attained the status he has. No one is capable of being on the money every time. You need friends to keep your head and creativity in check. I feel his "friends" are all on the payroll.. Could be wrong, but that's my gut. Speaking up for those who DON'T like all the tracks so far. Which I thought was a rather weird assumption.
