The harmonica is way not enough-though the small indigo shows would be ok-ish. The o2 horn section spoiled me. I'm still listening to them shows-so I'm probablt a little biased.
Seems u guys may be getting ahead of yourselves. [Edited 3/19/09 12:21pm]

Graycap23, I second that emotion. CC and her husband are a pedestrian rhythm section. Not to mention he has the options of using Michael B/Sonny T. and John Blackwell/Rhonda Smtih. I'm hoping with my fingers crossed that this will be CC's and Josh's last gig. Prince usually has a new and old players play together before he ushers in a new band. I hope he does the opposite and have his current rhythm section to play this gig and hire one of his old rhythm section for future recording and touring projects. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

Even Tamar was performing with Prince at shows before 3121 came out. I'm surprised that she's not out there doing interviews, let alone performing with or without Prince. Well in this thread that someone posted from the Dr.FB site, there's a clip of Bria singing "Everytime." http://prince.org/msg/13/301256

Not that I'm hoping for her to be there, just a little odd... why is it odd?

He needs some more keyboardplayers though. Unless he'll perform the Lotusflow3r gig with Sonny and Michael only. I'll miss the horns co-sign

I'll miss the horns co-sign I think horn lovers were spoilt by Prince's obsession with them during the whole last decade. I like them too, but I like the change also. It's time to do something different, more rough sounding in my opinion. These horns can turn any good funk song into just another "We Gets Up", "Get On The Boat", "Prettyman" etc. You gotta be careful when using them.

great to see the horns have gone [as much as I loved them, change is always good]. As for CC and Josh don't be too hard on them, seein' them up close during the 21 nights aftershows they proved how good they can be, have you heard how funky Alphabet St is on the 21 nights CD?.

Caught Michael B on the Oz leg of the D&P tour in '92 but it's hard to say that his drumming was highlighted...
And on another note, at some point there was a rumor that Tal Wilkenfeld was on the Bria album - did that disappear? Anyone? "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

Diggin the strings on Bria's joint.
It's obvious that she is not yet up to her live singing skills. Maybe she has stage fright..lol All you others say Hell Yea!!

PEJ said: I remember way back in the day I went to the Prince convention for Controversy magazine and we caught sight of him (Michael Bland) playing all over the place like at the Whiskey Junction and at Bunkers with Dr.'s Mambo Combo. I always dug Michaels playing style. He's my second favorite Prince drummer after John Blackwell. Michael Bland played at Bunkers and Whiskey Junction in Mpls just this last year. And most likely with Dr Mambos' Combo while in Minney too. Maybe he's been playing and practicing with Prince at PP lately? Great news for the LA orgers, Michael Bland drums with an AMAZING SOUND

I hope Mike wears the KFC bucket hat! I think that would help bring about a few flashbacks to the old D&P days. lol

The only mention of Tal Wilkenfeld I can remember in connection with Prince was this blurb in a post from Dr. FB: Also in the works is a project with Tal Wilkenfeld & Michael B. providing the music for Shelby J’s debut cd. The first song, “North Carolina”, will feature Anthony Hamilton and Prince on backing vocals and will be released as soon as it is finished.

Why is this line-up not getting me too excited??
There are more interesting people from his past...either that or a whole new band to push Prince to places he no longer dares to go. Now THAT would be exciting

Heck this is sooo tempting me to break the bank and fly in, its only an 11 hour direct flight from London. I already got the Saturday off work anyway and getting the Monday wouldn't be a problem so I could fly out Frday night/early Sat and fly back Sunday getting back Monday and go in to work on Tuesday. I'd be totally spaced with jet lag but delivering mail aint rock science so...
