I remember way back in the day I went to the Prince convention for Controversy magazine and we caught sight of him (Michael Bland) playing all over the place like at the Whiskey Junction and at Bunkers with Dr.'s Mambo Combo. I always dug Michaels playing style. He's my second favorite Prince drummer after John Blackwell.

cool Michael Bland played at Bunkers and Whiskey Junction in Mpls just this last year. headbang And most likely with Dr Mambos' Combo while in Minney too. Maybe he's been playing and practicing with Prince at PP lately? lol
Great news for the LA orgers, Michael Bland fro drums with an AMAZING SOUND campfire

wow those places are still around? I went there 18 years ago
eek

prince needs to kidnap her from that country reality show and put her on that intervention reality show, so she can see the error of her ways. lol

well, if you look at it this way: contemporary country isn't a whole lot different than contemporary r&b these days. it all sounds like the same lite FM fluff. it's just that the country songs are being sung by people in cowboy hats, and the soul songs are being sung by people who are not wearing cowboy hats.

still, sheila needs to take that damn hat off. disbelief

Yep... there is a show where P introduces him by saying "...and Stevie Wonder dressed him 2nite..."

Plus, P tends to give other band members a bit too much front-of-stage time... Why bother when u're that much of a better guitar player - Mike Scott had 1 solo, methinks...

I'm with u on that 100% smile He's far too generous with some of these one dimensional characters who have been doing the same tired schtick for years, i.e. Doug E Stale. If I never see him hogging the stage again it'll be too soon.
Oh crap! I think I just jinxed these gigs by tempting fate lol

I heard Levi intentionally leaked unreleased music which wound up on bootlegger releases because he was so pissed at P.
