 Yeah, I'm completely ambivalent about this news. I will figure out a way to buy the albums when they drop (Target is not that easy for me to get to), but I am very, very skeptical about the website. Archived video footage? Yeah, right? We'll never see that stuff released unless it's been edited and censored to death. I'm not sure I want to spend $77 on a website that may not offer much. I'm tired of the games, like someone else pointed out--why wasn't all of this announced on Lotusflower? Looks like his "official" website still won't be the place to go for the latest. when has any official website of prince's giving u the REAL news?  man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

(Clay is speculating that the initial cost for a year will be $77), and to give fans their money's worth, Prince will continue to roll out content on a regular basis, including live video clips and possible full-length concerts, as well as unreleased music. According to Clay, Prince has copious amounts of never-issued material, which Clay and his team are in the process now of cataloging.

I'm not too bothered about videos, but if they're videos of old concerts with great audio quality, I know damn well I'll be saving the audio for eternal enjoyment. I know I'll be stumping up my cash on day 1, just in case it meant I missed out on something. It's not a big amount of money and I'm aware of the history, so I'm willing to go along for the ride. If it's shitty, then it's shitty. At the end of the day, if we don't like what's on offer, we don't have to join. RIP | |

album will be released on site and target on same day (as reported) however, the site will be ready a week in advance.. all the excited fans will immediately join, and they'll want to own the silver back.. win win for him | |
