Although I cannot speak for everyone, I had a fabulous experience with the NPGMC, and hope he brings something similar back. Even if it is only for a few years. That is a few "hopeful" front row tickets to concerts. Yep, and it was great. Yeah, you know that was a treat. As was getting a letter from his lawyers threatening to sue me for slander when I wrote to their customer service site asking for a refund when it turned out we were not getting the product advertised. That was fantastic. What was also nice was getting that really nice tour booklet that had 4 albums listed in the back in which we never received too.

There's a huge recession and most of us were 'lifetime members' of NPGMC. IMHO, A few old videos and promises of priority purchase of tickets for to-be-scheduled concerts won't cut it. ^ That's what I'm sayin' PopeLeo! Isn't a lifetime membership supposed to be for a lifetime? Prince are you listening???? Seriously if he doesn't honor NPGMC members that's just wrong. The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
Remember there is only one destination and that place is U All of it. Everything. Is U.

I am predicting there is no concert, but the $77 is a membership fee which includes the 3 albums *when they come out in the future* and access to some kind of video footage accessible from the little tv with the Purple Rain scene on it. If he performs anywhere in LA it will be something much more under the radar than what is expected.
That is my guess, we will see soon! (hopefully)...

How exciting! i'm expecting a flash file with some pictures of prince and bria. pictures we've seen before, with all the snippets of music we've heard this far, plus one more unknown new snippet. the flashfile will also have some info, like "coming soon THREE new albums by prince and special guests". we'll all be disappointed and we'll all sulk and hate. meantime we'll all be playing that damn flashfile a million times just so we can listen to that one new snippet over and over again. i guess we'll know in two days. 8 pm jan 31st in america is about 2 am feb 1st in europe so i'll be checking the site early sunday morning at about 8 am. god i hope prince proves us all wrong. wouldn't it be great if we logged on and there were a flashfile of an angry prince, looking mad as hell, throwing cd's at the screen, yelling "here's your 3 goddamn albums motherfuckers, i hate you, i hate you. aaargh". and then download links to all 3 albums would appear and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Yes, of his websites - plural. He can't just change the name of his website and say "Oh, it got stomach cancer - there was nothing we could do. But good news! Here's lotu5flower.com, so pay up..." I know you're proud of yourself, as a lot of apologists seem to be, but how exactly do you know something is coming out for sure? Because of mention in the press? There was mention of both Roadhouse Garden & Crystal Ball 2 in the press. Because you've heard some audio clips? I recall a track called "Splash" that was supposed to be part of Roadhouse Garden. Because you've seen album artwork? Oh no, wait...that was for those 4 albums we didn't get from the NPG Music Club!' Until the album is in your hands, there's no reason to get excited.

I think there is certainly reason to feel excitement! Prince has made it known via the sources he chose. Not that our man never changes his mind but I honestly do not think he would start all this, only to not finish. He brought up a new web site (yes, a new one for all of you that despise the fact that he continues to change sites-although I tend to agree that it would be more feasible to maintain one site continuously) and I do not feel he did that only to back out of bringing out new jams. There is plenty of reason for excitement for most of us. We just need to realize that things may not always fold out as "planned". -you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude!

From Astrology.com:
Mercury turns direct on January 31 (or February 1 depending on your time zone), and the first Mercury retrograde of 2009 is now officially over. Let the misunderstandings, confusions and fuzzy thinking end and new conversations begin anew!
Mercury turns direct in pragmatic Capricorn, so it's time to get a stable plan together. Finish projects that may have been on hold during Mercury retrograde. Whether it was due a muddy mind, unforeseen delays, someone's non-committal behavior or any other confusion, the barriers should lift now and give way to progress. The gates have been lifted, encouraging you to charge forward. Whether you want to move ahead with a new job, fresh business venture, creative project, relationship, you name it -- get going! Cosmically speaking, there's nothing stopping you! Mercury's trine to serious Saturn indicates that the support you need is there for you. However, Mercury's wide conjunction to feisty Mars, and a square to the impetuous Aries Moon, caution you to not overreact to anything. As you move forward, let things develop at a sensible pace! Oh, good Lord. No wonder there's been universal suckage for the last few weeks - Mercury's been retrograde! Normally, I'm on top of that stuff, but I spaced it this time (no pun intended). Communications should be much improved once Mercury goes direct. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
