Cause that's what Prince fans do and they do it very well. Some sad shit isn't it? I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Well we had this interview from this producer in LA a few weeks ago who said he had spent a lot of time recording with Prine.
Then he plays new songs to Blackwell. Then he records with Blackwell. Basically Prince is increasing his collection of new songs we will never listen to ! Thank you P !

Prince's idea, now, of something that sounds like 'Controversy', I'm imagining a cross between 'Life O' The Party' and 'Push It Up'.

Nobody is doubting the possibilty that another Planet Earth may soon be dropped, just that whatever is released is going to be at all relevant or have more than one or two tracks worth spinning beyond the initial play. No hard feelings.

Interesting news, thanks.
But don't hold your breath: he may not release his music. Or produce it a bit differently... And then shelve it. Just believe it when you see the CD in the stores. (any of them left in the USA?) Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Because tomorrow he could tweeze the wrong hair from his ass and decide to shelve the project. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

A lot of y'all deserve another Planet Earth or Musicology or whatever album you think sucks. I don't think most people here could handle a great Prince CD if it slapped them on their face, I really don't. I'm just sayin... I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". Cause that's what Prince fans do and they do it very well. Some sad shit isn't it? it's easy 2 proceed of the urge of caution cause prince has a tendacy 2 get bored real quickly and then change his mind about a new project. not 2 mention, there is no website 2 obtain his music, so he will probably go through the channels of a label distributing it so that takes even more time 2 agree upon payment etc. in this day and age of the internet and other artists going directly 2 their fanbase 2 release the music, prince once the innovator is now back peddling on this. so while it's great there is new music being formed, it's time 2 release it straight 2 his fans and not 2 some executive either saying yes we'll go with it or no we're not interested. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Just for your memories from the USA Today article this summer!
USA TODAY ! .....BEVERLY HILLS — Downstairs in a dimly lighted screening room crowded with sofas, Prince leafs "When are we going to get back to the poetry of Smokey Robinson and Bob Dylan?" he says, sitting on the edge of a round bed under a heart-shaped mirror. His stereo includes the turntable his father gave him as a toddler. He learned to play guitar spinning LPs on it. Right now, he's cranking newly crafted funk-pop-psychedelic wonders Boom, Forever and Dreamer, an ode to Martin Luther King Jr. inspired by discussions with Dick Gregory. He declines to play The Divine, a song so "mind-blowing" he doubts he'll ever release it. "The minute the harmonies hit, I put it away," he says. On a love song, his voice takes on yearning as he pines for the feel of a lover's lips and the move of her hips "That's what happens with years of celibacy," says Prince, survivor of two broken marriages. "It all goes into the music." He pauses. "This time, it has to be the right person." AND http://drfunkenberry.word...-it-loose/ Prince On The Move, Just Not Turning It Loose No wishing for Prince’s Turn Me Loose on I-Tunes…or on any format for that matter! Turn Me Loose was just a leak. The DJ got the cut from Prince’s studio after begging for it after just one listen! He promised not to play it on air, then couldn’t resist. The song is not included on any cd and was recorded for posterity’s sake and placed in the vault. Edna Gundersen, on the other hand, heard several tracks from an all-out rock and roll album that Prince just completed. It’s being mastered as we speak. No release date is being planned for the collection at this time. Also in the works is a project with Tal Wilkenfeld & Michael B. providing the music for Shelby J’s debut cd. The first song, “North Carolina”, will feature Anthony Hamilton and Prince on backing vocals and will be released as soon as it is finished. Also planned is a NY book release party (details forthcoming) that the whole band and crew are looking forward to. Pray for an afterparty somewhere, people!-Dr.FB

To be fair, what else could the guy say?
"The new album is pretty damn bad. At least we all still have our copies of Sign 'O' the Times, though." I mean, come on. As far as the new album goes, if it's anything like the atrocious Turn Me Loose, it'll be awful. By contrast, if it's anything like F.U.N.K., there will be hope. His closed minded last interview doesn't exactly fill me with high expectations. I don't wanna hear a bunch of retro funk with lyrics about God saving us from our salacious lifestyles. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
"You still wanna take me to prison...just because I won't trade humanity for patriotism."
