Not everybody could vote, there are a lot of folks on here that are not old enough or had other reasons that made them ineligable, I'm not judging anybody. Obama included the one's that did not vote for him in his speech too, Some people need to learn what CLASS is all about.nod

I won't concern myself with Prince's personal choices but the artists who supported President-elect Obama are the ones who should play at his inauguration, period.

I suspect he wouldn't be the ideal choice of the Secret Service anyway. lol
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Last night history was made when Barack Obama was elected as the first African-American president of the United States and I was wondering, do any of you think that Prince will play his Innaugural Ball.

I remember the NAACP Awards from 2005 and Obama was in the audience and jamming really good to Prince while he was playing. And it wouldn't be a ball without Prince kicking some tunes!

Do you think Prince would go if he got offered to play? biggrin

That would be really cool

All Right those of you who are hating...he was elected by the people, so appreciate my right to select my candidate of choice. He is USA's 44th President. So deal with it and work with the rest of use for a better America.

i reckon he would distance himself as far from the politics as possible. 15 years is a long time, Clinton fans.

Unless he showed up and did a bunch of Ryan Adams covers. And used the word "mimsy" at some point, possibly throughout. That would make my century.

Bruce Springsteen has been a big vocal supporter for Obama, taking every opotunity to play at Obama events. He has spent his whole life advocating worthy cause working for the working man.
Springsteen should play, and get a little recognition for his selfless giving.

Prince, i love his music, but fuck him he's ignorant

I assume that Prince would not play at an event such as this. I don't think it would matter one way or another.

Prince is in a position to help the world in a positive way, from wherever He plays...

Good argument. Springsteen should definitely play.

I'm sorry for my ignorance, alright. I have no idea who Coldplay are and I didnt know one was married to Gwen Paltrow. The only British foursome I listen to is the Beatles, but if it means so much, I'll give this Coldplay a little listen too. biggrin But i'm glad they support Mr. President.

I don't believe Prince cares if he gets asked or not, or if other artists are asked to and not him. If he does, ppl would rant about how he's being hypocritical about his religion, if he doesn't ppl would rant about him being so arrogant etc etc etc. Y'all know Prince is not in the habit of tryna please ppl much anyway...and I love him for that! cool

I can't wait to hear what the McCain folks will have to say four years from now after Obama turned this country around. Why can't folks just celebrate a great thing. I remember all those folks getting on me a few years back about not supporting Bush....I told you so..... When I hear them complain I jsut say "I am glad I didn''t vote for him....man that makes them mad. lol

Couldn't agree more. I played The Rising a few times the other day along with Leonard Cohen's Democracy.

Well done to those of you on here who voted for Obama. Speaking from the UK it gives us more faith in Americans.
