Prince tributes in Sweden

Yesterday swedish artists paid tribute to Prince at club Debaser in Malmö (3rd largest city), tonight he'll be paid tribute to at Debaser in Stockholm. Prince didn't attend yesterday's event and will not attend tonight's event. These are only tributes.

Comment by "JK" I found about the event in Malmö last night, translated to english by me:

The concert in Malmö last night was great. The artists gave everything to imitate the little prince. Highlights: Tingsek's version of "I Wanna Be Your Lover" dressed in spandex pants and bare chest and with a falsetto in the same league as the prince himself. Timbuktu won the evening's look-a-like contest. With hairstyle, make-up and clothes from the Purple Rain-era, he did a swedish version of "Poplife" with the obvious name Popliv. Titiyo's fake orgasm on the floor in the hot "Slow Love". Svante Lodén's falsetto scream in "If I Was Your Girlfriend".

Excerpts from swedish news article about Stockholm concert tonight, translated to english by me:

Headline: Prince gets his own party at Debaser

...

At Debaser in Malmö they have already done seven nights dedicated to legends like David Bowie, Joni Mitchell and Nico.

...

The evening always begins with a documentary movie, tonight "Purple Rain (20th Anniversary)", before a sparkling cover show begins on stage.

"It's a little scary to cover Prince since his identity is so strong. I'll see if I have the guts to put on a catsuit, the hardest thing probably is to get the right sound landscape but we have a kickass band", Titiyo says.

Among others songs, she'll sing "Hot Thing". No one, against all odds, have chosen "Kiss", which probably is the song from the mega artist's archive that's been interpreted the most - but then again, there are about 30 Prince-albums to choose from.

Seems cool, unfortunately I won't be there to see it.

I don't think Titiyo is as famous outside Sweden as her
stepsiblings Neneh Cherry and Eagle-Eye Cherry.
