What's the name of the instrumental love song from Purple Rain. Right after the movie I purchased the album from my local record store, the manager who was also a fan ordered it from Europe. It's since been lost at my parents.

Is this the correct name? Has it been released on an album/CD?

If you're talking about the song that plays when Prince and Apollonia are making love... the song is titled "God"... a vocal version exists on disc 3 of "The Hits / The B-Sides"

Yes, "God (Instrumental): Love theme from Purple Rain" was officially released
as the b-side to the UK 12" for Purple Rain back in 1984. Unfortunately it's
never been released on CD though.

Stated this several times on here...One of my all time favorite things I have ever heard from Prince. Not crazy about the vocal version cuz P sounds stone beserk... But the instrumental,...beautiful. Some of the best guitar playing I have ever heard from Prince as well. His musicianship on everything on this is top notch. I was very surprised to learn that MANY people in the U.S. have NEVER heard this. I bought the 12' when it was first released like I bought everything of P's when I was a kid. It was an import just like the 12' of Little Red Corvette & 1999 was.

It's on UK iTunes because of the 12" re-releases from a year or so back.

The instrumental version is A-freaking-mazing. The vocal version doesn't compare.

This is such a GREAT song... Both versions are great actually (his singing is fantastic on the vocal version, and the guitar playing on the instrumental one is soemthing that sticks to your brain)
