At some point in your life you've just gotta say no, after 25 yrs. of Purple rain, I seriously don't care.

The original vinyl sounds great though.

agree with cinnie. i still have the purple rain poster in the record sleeve in a plastic protective cover. no need for a remaster

For those of us getting back into vinyl after a near 20 yr 'CD distraction', and a new generation discovering vinyl now, it's great they are releasing classic albums again. My original copy of purple rain doesn't look so good after my teen years and probably hundreds of spins with a cheap stylus followed by poor storage and probably 15 moves since then. A fresh remastered copy with the occasional listen should last the rest of my days. Too bad 1999 isn't on the list.
