When i did not rush out to buy 3121 or Planet Earth, and when he called us Naysayers during The Rainbow Children era

i guess i'm still a fan but only in the respect that i'm interested
to hear his new music.

i didn't rush out to buy 3121, which i bought in a store about six
months after release and just chucked into a drawer after i ripped
it to my harddrive.

i didn't bother getting a physical copy of planet earth at all cuz
i don't like it a lot and the physical product offers you nothing
worthwhile on top of the download really.

since 2000 i've just been an occasional fan of his new stuff with
a huge love for all his old releases.

but there's simply too many new bands and artists out there right
now that make far more interesting music than prince. plus, they
release stuff all the time without the mindfucks accompanying each
and every fucking release.

I am a fan of what he did after Planet Earth, I will never buy anything new, The whole thing with the dancing baby, and PFUnk, the removing of videos.I made me look back and realize what a hypoctite he is and what a control freak.

i don't really care about the copyright stuff or the antics or the sueing... I think he has every right if that's what he wants to do...

for me it's about the music, and even though I don't like some of it, i like enough to hope he will put out something that I can get excited about... as long as I have hope...

I've never doubted being a Prince fan, he touched my heart and soul a long time ago, and that was it for me, I just accept him / what he does.... it's just HIM, and because he's given me the music and the memories why should I question him? It always amazes me the way people think he 'owes' them something, he doesn't owe any of us anything! The only time I remember being confused was when he became a symbol and said that Prince was 'dead' that upset me a little, because I didn't want Prince to be dead, but that's all! He's always cool with me...

Never quit on him,but got pissed off when he shuteted down the hole internet thing.

I never stoped being a fan,just didnt like him shuting down the internet stuff.....

I didn't doubt I was a Prince fan, I just remember being shocked that I didn't love "Diamonds & Pearls" from beginning to end, which is a bit surprising to me as I REALLY didn't like "Around the World in a Day" when it first was released.
In fact, I didn't come to LOVE and ADORE "ATWIAD" for over a decade and I still have rather lukewarm feelings for D&P.

How easily I go back. The D&P moment was real, but not super deep.

The moment my appreciation for Prince changed was the moment I read PFU's initial statement.

When Prince went after prince.org the flame in my heart definately dimmed. It has flickered back a bit since, but it is by no means warmly burning again.

There haven't been any.
