Truly awesome and awe inspiring performance of a song that I never really paid that much attention to so probably only heard it a few times before but now I love it!!! only P can make something pretty mundane into something really great. Thank you P

Creep was NEVER mundane and while I do like not love the Prince version NOTHING will ever come close to the Radiohead version. The lyrics should never have been changed by Prince. It was an abomination. Like going into the Sistine Chapel and painting it over in magnolia. Looking for a new man. Freaks need not apply. Freeeks can tho ;-p

Agree completely Studal, Prince is a fantastic songwriter but even he can't improve this song. But did note he did the clean version! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

exactly. and this on top of all his complaining about people covering his songs. it's really horrible both in execution and underlying thought. if anything, he should have a long hard listen to anything radiohead has released from the bends up to in rainbows. he could learn a thing or two from them production wise. he's really starting to become a parody of himself with all this horrible complaining about stuff and then turning around and doing it himself. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Well that's just your opinion. To me, this is a very average tune (sorry but Radiohead is a good band that is totally overated by his fans... like when some here pretend prince is the best musician ever... same kind of crap from Radiohead fans unfortunately) that Prince turned into something emotional with some great guitar work. A lot more musicianship displayed on the Coachella's version than on the original track.

Respect for your opinion--straight up. I might be wrong, but I think his copying of songs could be a shout out to the artist--a compliment. Like I said though, I could be wrong. P does think A LOT of himself, indeed. And I agree that his actions are strange and seemingly paradoxical. I think Radiohead is a great band. A truly artist band. The original version is also emotive, and I like it. But, speaking from the perspective of Prince fandome, I like what he did with it.

A perfect example of Prince trying to make a classic song "his tune".
Princes version lost everything that I hold dear to the original. It was quirky to see Prince attempt it bt he didnt do anything that beat the original. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Oh, but come on it is so Prince to do that.
I think he changed the lyrics because he had 'something to say' with them. I think Prince has been quite outspoken in his dislike for the current trend of self-loathing in popular music, that's why he did it, he wanted to change the meaning of "Creep" - He wanted it to be a song about self-worth NOT self-loathing.. Pure Prince - always there to teach us something. It was his way of saying don't hate yourself - love yourself... "You ARE special.." I love it - it is SO Prince! xx Shut up already, damn.
