Indio California you are too funky !! Last weekend’s show was amazing. The band took to the stage followed by Prince to a long intro of the Bird and one could argue a hint of Michael Jackson’s Can U Feel It. Prince announced Coachella “ I am Here, where are you” and then stating he was not hear to work but to play and to party and in the spirit of that we were in the coolest place on earth right now – the crowd went crazzzzzy as he picked up the Guitar and launched into The Bird with vocals by Morris.

This was followed by Jungle Love and Sheila E on vocals for GL which sounded so California cool and breezy and more true to the original record as compared to version performed at NCAAP in 2005 which had more latin flavour, though ending had that amazing drum solo !!

1999 was awesome and Marva King ( the wonderful Marva ) had more vox that O2 version and really delivered on this. Controversy and Feel4U were similar to O2 performance and none of the energy has been lost since last September. LTC was wonderful with Prince on guitar and this version was rocked up to cater for the masses, it was truly stunning, and Prince in that white suit looked cool as ice !! 4 me, I think this was my favourite of the nite!

Skipping on down to 7 once again an amazing version and as they transitioned to Come Together Prince asked the crowd to chant “war no more” and how he was tired of debated ( Hillary V Obama ) and time to usher in the golden again. Come Together was amazing and Prince then left stage and returned for PR and LGC, which the masses loved... all in all this was a super concert and Prince and the band have made some changes since O2 to cater for this big gig and I can assume the massive 80,000 seater upcoming in Dublin (which will sell out for sure ). Key changes include the absence of the twins, new member in the hornz section? And Josh looks more comfortable these days standing out front with P and playing good.

Overall Prince was in amazing and happy form. It was a delight to see the man so happy, relaxed, and in tune – clearly he does not read any of the negative comments of HQ / Org (joke !!) and if he replicates a similar performance in Dublin, it’ll be a stunning nite. Can’t wait.....

If U R ever down dragging on the ground
Face twisted with a funky frown
Let me turn U on 2 something that I found
2 make U feel good, feel good

This setlist hasn't changed much since the o2 shows and I bet the arrangements are the same too.

I'm surprised at the comment Prince made about Hillary vs. Obama since he does not vote...he must be just as attentive to these candiates as some of us.
