i agree. i was pretty bored by it. it's got some great songs on it, but the whole thing is just a little too slick sounding.

You must be out your mind! 3121 is probably one of Prince's best albums up there with the likes of SOTT. The Gold Experience is vastly over rated if you ask me. I love 3121

3121 is BY FAR his best CD since Emancipation.

It was the first Prince CD in a long time to get me excited about what he would do next.

I was disappointed with Planet Earth. But I still live for those, now sadly, rare moments when his true genius shines through.

it's a helluva lot better than Planet Earth, and were it not for the insistence on shoving Tamar down everyone's throat, the 3121 album could have been huge.

3121 is probably the best single disc of new music from Prince in the last 20 years. A very consistent album with at least half a dozen or more very good/great songs. This album is like one of his best from long ago except it is modernized with some current sounds. The album will stand the test of time along with his greatest work and we can only hope he can put together another full album of this quality.

I'm the kind of guy who likes 'concept albums', just like Lovesexy, prince and The Rainbow Children, even if these three are quite different musically one from the other.
But talking about 3121.

I agree with those who say it's one of his best records in years. The less interesting song on it, is just the one that was built up to be a tribute to his former funk self, 'Black sweat'.

Some jams are memorable, I'm talking about 'Get on the boat' (bloody, wonderful horns!), 'The dance' (great singing and melody and better arrangement than the original version), 'Fury' (another incarnation of the early Prince -see Uptown- but still good funk/rock). The title track is also mesmerizing, even if I prefer live bootleg renditions of it, but the drums are naaastey!

I like 3121, it was the begining of another era for Prince, that theme still goes on and nobody really knows what the numbers REALLY mean smile

3121 is the shit! It's his best album to me in years, I'd say since TRC maybe even The Gold Experience and it's in my top 10 favorite Prince CD's. For me, there was FINALLY a Prince CD with some real funky dance songs on it like Black Sweat, Lolita, 3121 and Love. Plus, I found that even though all the songs were different, they all, for the most part, flowed well together. The only song on there that I wish wasn't there was Beautiful Loved and Blessed. I even dug Incense and Candles. It irks me greatly that Prince and Universal didn't promote the shit out of this CD. It really deserved it and it would have been a smash hit for sure. As with many Prince albums, this CD will get the love and respect that it deserves as time passes.

"Don't you wanna come 3121!"
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

3121 is definitely good and better than Planet Earth.
PE is okay, but it's a little to "safe." Most of it doesn't have the passion that is synonomous with Prince's songs and music.
PE has funkier jams and better ballads.

One Night Alone or C-Note since TRC. I try to listen to Emancipation but it's a little hard work at times. PE is very lame. All that talent in the musicians available and for what? 3121 has a couple of good tracks. Musicology? We won't go there.

Best thing since TRC is probably Ultimate wink

Love this album. It's helping me lose weight at the moment! I have it on my MP3

and it makes me walk REALLY fast when I'm walking my dog. It's great for

working out to too. The only song on it I'm not crazy about is Get on the Boat.

The rest of it though I say sounds like Gangsta Funk!!!
