Problem I have answering a quesion like this is that when Prince does something "Crap"-you kind of know why he has done it. For example Arms of orion could have been done by someone else but his bad stuff always seems like he is saying "I can do this too". To be honest I think this is the case with a lot of his music post'95. It's as if he is proving that he can do that crap better and reemphasising why he made his choices in the 80's. What prince never gets is that outside maybe people like us most people don't care. Once you are judged in a certain light it is nigh on impossibble to change peoples opinion and the irony is if he came out with the best pop song ever-those who dislike him will call him a hypocrite-those who do like him will see him as being substandard

For me it's "Pope" and "Jughead".

Yes, it's the rapping. Prince CANNOT rap.

"Solo" is hi-di-ous. "Pope" is re-fried-crap-on-toast. "Peach" gets on my nerves. I skip over "Mr Goodnight" and lastly "Lolita" makes me cringe.

I think it was for "I'll Do Anything", but it is probably the worst P song...ever. It ranks up there with "Solo" to me.

Every song on "The Vault" is terrible.

Most of "Chaos & Disorder" is unlistenable.

Whatever musical genius exists on "Rainbow Children" is overshadowed by the insane religious ramblings.

Like someone said above, I love the dude dearly... but there's a lot of crap to sift through, especially after "Batman".

All of that is a matter of opinion. However, The Vault is a great album....minus My Little Pill. How can you knock the greatness of songs like "It's About That Walk" and "When The Lights Go Down"...not to mention the long version of "She Spoke 2 Me". These songs are some of the best he did in the late 90s IMO.

"Strollin'" (always felt way too silly and a waste of valuable album space.)
"Jughead" (skip)
"Reflection" (dull as hell)
"Illusion Coma Pimp..." - ugly and almost unlistenable for me.


I love NPG part 2. Love it. One of his most cool album enders....with the words "New Power Generation has just taken control." and the water sound effects.

BTW, I like Tamborine, Guitar, Reflection, Illusion Coma Pimp & Circumstance (love it!), Strollin (just ok), The Vault and Chaos & Disorder both have good songs mixed in there. Just shows that different people have different tastes. It's amazing that there are so few songs that EVERYBODY hates (I'm looking at U "Jughead").

Sarah is probably in my top 30 "Worst" list.
