I dont see where All My Dreams could have fit in. Sometimes It Snows is such a beautiful way to end the record - and AMD is such a grand finale-esque song it wouldnt fit elsewhere. There's others Here with us i dont think is good enough - and Old Friends 4 sale - may have been but its not very pop.
I think there's an argument that Last Heart would have been snappy enough to fit in with the pop-funk vibe, and i believe it was recorded in time. What about Sexual Suicide - no way he should have sat on that for 11 years - thats a killer b-side right there. To me Parade is supposed to be this succinct pop funk record, and i think its short running time is part of its appeal - moving from one style to the next in quick succesion.

All My Dreams was the closing track on the LP on the first configuration (see here for full tracklist). I think Last Heart, recorded in early Jan.1986, would just have missed the mark for inclusion, although Anotherlover was recorded mid-December, so only just missed.

Id got it in my head it was recorded in Dec 85, but i could have read it wrong - i think i was under the impression it was during the same sessions as Anotherloverholenyohead. I new AMD was tentatively the closing track - but i think nothing tops SISIA - such a beautiful way to end the record.

Sexual Suicide definitely fits in terms of sound and instrumentation IMHO. Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

I love Parade the way it is, though I wouldn't mind Alexa de Paris or love or Money in the mix somewhere.
To me though, Parade was short, sweet, and quirky--just like an 80's Prince album should be. love it.

with those songs included it would have simply been the best album of all time

Old Friends 4 Sale did originally segue into All My Dreams and both songs were part of Parade at one point.

Parade a double album. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

old friends 4 sale with the original lyrics would have been sweet, sexual suicide fits in the context of the film so it would have fit.
there's others here with us and all my dreams would have fit better on dream factory instead of parade man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

It would have become an unfocused mess.
That album is amazing as it stands. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I wouldn't change anything on PARADE. It's classic all the way thru.
