(Like Camille/DF/CB List of unreleased projects here: http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=53806 Look again..they ARE on there! Thanks! Great info... some things i hadn't heard of before... like that Emancipation configuration??? Would've been quite poor album
- why isnt vavoom on high? - how about electric intercourse, wasn't it intented on Purple Rain? - some typos, but thats ok. STICKY!!! - i've never heard that All My Dreams was intented for Parade... -edit have always seen that...according to The Vault again ..it was assembeled on May 1st 1985. Sessions took place April 1985 - Mid-March 1986.
The High album.. "The album was finished in early August 2000 (announced on the NPG Online LTD on August 8th). Hish was comprised of 10 tracks in this sequence.. (see above). Instead of releasing High on a conventional album however, Prince chose to make all the songs avaliable as limited editiion through NPG Online LTD and NPG Music Club, which was launched February 2001. June 8th 2001 was the premire of Vavoom on KDWB so maybe Vavoom wasnt present at the time of that configuration? Well according to the site at the time it was, but hey we will probably never know... The tracklist was never posted on the official site (believe me, I know). This info comes from Uptown, and it's one of the few occasions where they're in error. This often quoted tracklist is actually from a CDR that Prince made up so he could play some of his new material in clubs etc. It features tracks from various (at the time) current projects, and most of the tracks are indeed from 'High', but not all of them. Some of the tracks are actually from the unreleased NPG album 'Peace'.

Making a list of unreleased Prince albums isn't as easy or straightforward as it appears.

What constitutes an unreleased album? Where do you draw the line? Most of the albums listed were ideas that were never finished, and therefore can only be considered 'works in progress' as they would never have been released in the form listed (had Prince decided to finish them). There are only a few truly 'finished' unreleased albums. With many of the albums we don't know what the tracklist was, with others we don't know what order the tracks were sequenced. Is this bothering you that much? PS>..oh yeah i would love 2 know what "Bloody Mouth" is!!! "This was a tune about being pissed off at someone" says engineer Joe Blaney, which was recorded winter 1987. Eric Leeds added sax on Nov. 15th 1987. Cat had said that her rap in Alphabet St was originally recorded in Bloody Mouth. "It was a pretty cool tune" Blaney remembers, "I remember it had a very good bass line, very funky and kind of moving. 'I wanna give you a bloody mouth' that was the chorus. We finished it in one day. I got the impression that it was like having fun, like an excercise or something. I dont think it was written specifically for Grafitti Bridge" Grafitti Bridge 1's tracks on September 22nd 1987 were in mentioned in the script. Grafitti Bride second cconfig was assembeled Sep. 25th 1988 Now i wish people would quit hatin and just enjoy lookin at the titles... i'm quite interested in Slave 2 The System. was it really meant for Exodus?

OK, it's now official to me that Prince indeed is a workaholic. That entire list of songs is overwhelming to look at, or even consider listening too in one's lifetime. Are any of the songs that were subsequently left off the commercial albums available by some other means? I won't mention that dirty " BOO " word, it seems as if he's on a witchhunt, searching out the " Evildoers ". One last thing, how did you compile all of that info, who did you talk to? I'm a bit sad that there is so much of his music that I've never heard. This post has been modified from its original thought. It has been formatted to fit into the space and run in the time allotted.

Emancipation:
Right Back Here In My Arms Slave 2 The System Slave New World 2020 Feel Good Journey 2 The Center Of your Heart Eye Am The DJ Emancipation Yeah right... There's no way there ever could have been really a serious album configuration like this. With the exception of "New World" these are pretty much just all the Emancipation sessions outtakes listed here. The ones that appeared on the actual album are the ones that also are known to have early/alternate versions existing.

There's 2 versions - The Prince version, and the Sonny T. version, meant for Exodus.

At this stage the album only had 9 songs (above)...they were jettisoned as a work in progress only on the project. Emancipation would go through many changes before it was released as a 36 track CD set inNov. 19th 1996." So i do agree with you, im JUST puttin on what configurations were made for albums i could find. Yes, it's a fan compilation. ('High' never got as far as having cover art made for it before it was shelved)

Oh, it doesn't bother me at all, I love all this kinda stuff about early configurations of albums etc. It's just that when these kinda things get posted without any explaination, people will assume that they are all fully realised albums that could or would have been released, and in most instances that is not the case. A lot of them are merely quick compilations of current songs with no intent to release them in that form or sequence.
